@Leialou: I know! Baby-proofing is hard! We've slowly tried to move some things with our nephews and my BFF's baby having gotten into things and broken things. At least slipcovers are washable! :)

Also, I realized you must not have earthquakes where you live! I'd be scared of standing the plates up. One little earthquake and they'd all be broken?!?!

Some terrible reflections on the glass (still wrapping presents!) but here's our china cabinet. I'm wondering if most people just stack dishes and plates inside or what? I have one plate on a stand and some bowls stacked b/c my ILs threw away the boxes while they were stored at their house.

@shopaholic: there is no door. It's antique and it didn't come with one. There are hinges, so once upon a time it had a door. I don't know what we'll do to baby proof. My dining room is not kid friendly at all! My chairs have white slip covers!

@Leialou: Ooh! Nice display! Is there a door on it, or will you have to move it once you have a LO running around? (I'm in the mindset of baby-proofing too).

I have a china cabinet. It's nice to grab my china off the shelf instead of unpacking it from a box when I want to use it.

We don't have formal china, but we do have a china cabinet :) I use it to store/display our glassware, pretty serving pieces, etc.

Do you display your china in your china cabinet/hutch? I still haven't busted out our china (married 4+ years) and wanted to use it this past week, but realized I'd have to unpack each set from each box. I do have one plate that is on display on a rack inside the cabinet (it was signed). The rest of our china cabinet houses fancy stemware, barware, alcohol, and small souvenirs from our travels, etc.
My SIL has all her china stacked in her china cabinet, but I don't necessarily think that looks that nice.
If you do display your china, how did you do it?
What do you keep in your china cabinet?
Pics please if you care to share! :D I'll come back and post mine.
