I second everything above and just add that snacking throughout the day can help with morning sickness. Which I know people know, I was just thinking it might be harder to find snacks like graham crackers or granola bars. You might want to pack a stash in a checked bag.

Lots of sunscreen and shade! Stay hydrated with bottled water. I'd be more careful with food choices. We stayed at a nice all inclusive for our honeymoon and I ended up very sick right after we got home. Not sure what I ate/drank but I would have no hesitation going back pregnant. If probably avoid ice personally and just stick to bottled water.

Have a good time! I was really uncomfortable telling people until I was a bit further along too but as it turned out, everyone guessed when I wasn't drinking, even though I made a point of sometimes carrying a glass of wine (which DH would end up drinking) or a stealth mocktail. They didn't say anything to me at the time but when I revealed everyone was just like "Yeah, I know". Anyway it sounds like you have made the appropriate plans! Don't stress, and enjoy your trip.

My Dr had no issues with Cancun for me. She just said wear lots of sunscreen b/c your skin is sensitive, stay hydrated, and watch getting overheated. I brought a gigantic floppy hat and wore lots of SPF 50

I also sucked it up and did trip insurance... just in case! We actually just went to Cancun in December but I am super excited about going back!

I kinda wanted to get some general info from the board and then call my OB with more specific questions. :)

I went to Cancun at 17 weeks. No big deal. I always asked for a pat down when I flew. Just drink lots of water, don't push it, listen to your body. As far as people knowing... It's a big deal to you but it does not have to be a distraction, I'd talk to you BF first ask his advice about the best way to tell your friends.

Also Mexico has a whole different set of food not to eat. Not sure why but they avoid pork products and canned food. You may want to look into food safety- but you should be just fine. I was careful of buffet food. Have fun and congratulations!

The internet would only suggest so much. I would definitely call my OB and see if they have any concerns.

Have fun in Cancun! We went there for our honeymoon almost 5 years ago.

Our babymoon trip to Cabo is early June and I'll be 20 weeks. My OB approved the trip so far. I'll be seeing my OB the day before we get on the plane. Guess I just have to hope the babies are fine. I paid for trip insurance, just in case anything were to happen.

Hey all,

I am going to Cancun in a week to celebrate my best friend's wedding. I am super excited for him and honored to be his "Best Woman" as he was my "Man of Honor" :)

I plan on calling my doctor to check but anyone have any tips on how to take care of me and baby?

Obviously there will be no drinking or other risky activities this time around (no scubaing, zip lining, etc). I know not to go in the jacuzzi/hot tub. I figure I'll request a "pat down" at the airport. I know to stay hydrated.

But other than that?? Anything else I should know???

Also, any tips on how to handle the fact that I'm not really ready to tell people would be super appreciated! I do plan on telling the groom and his partner and then figured I should let the bridal party know (long time friends) so they are not wondering why I'm not drinking? They all know I was hoping to be pregnant by the wedding. I don't want to take away any attention from the wedding and planned on emailing them and telling them it's early and I'm not really ready to talk about it yet but wanted them to know? My 12 week appt isnt until I get back from Cancun and clearly I am still nervous and want to be cautious!

Any help is always appreciated!
