@peaches1038: sounds normal. My DD had chapped lips too early on. She even had this white blister thing on her lip by the cupids bow. Eventually it went away as her skin got tougher and used to nursing.

Normal! Their skin is so weird the first few weeks. My 3 week old DD looks the same very often.

E had chapped lips and flaking skin for the first couple weeks of his life. I think it just has to do with adjusting to being out of the womb. Our ped didn't recommend putting any lotions on his skin, just that it would regulate naturally.

Totally normal! I remember asking the ped about this because my LO had the exact same thing. It went away pretty quickly.

I just had my LO on Sunday and after I nurse him, his lips look chapped and white. Is this normal or does it mean I have a bad latch? I'm pretty sure his mouth is wide enough and that his chin is tucked into my breast correctly. I have tenderness when he firsts latches, but then it doesn't hurt once he gets going. I might go to a lactation support group tomorrow depending on how we are doing, but thought I'd ask here first!! TIA!!

ETA: photo removed bc I didn't notice there was nip! Oops!
