I was lucky enough to come across in my journey with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. I know people spend tens of thousands of dollars in an effort to preserve fertility before chemotherapy. They were also treating that area so I'm sure that would have had a direct impact on his fertility if they were still TTC (he had a vasectomy after their second almost 10 years before treatments). I believer prior to chemo they cryopreserved his sperm. They were a bit cautious when they started TTC and thought they would have trouble. They got pregnant in 3 months and have a beautiful girl. So there's hope! It is very extremely situation specific. I did have chemotherapy (ABVD) but luckily did not have radiation which seems to have a higher impact on IF. Many patients who have undergone prior chemo are able to conceive, but it can lead to infertility in some situations. It's probably best to talk to your OB about your specific situation to see if you need any testing prior to TTC. What type of treatment did you have? It makes sense to me this would be listed--my friends who have had treatments for cancer talk about it being both a blessing and a curse. A blessing as it wipes out cancer, but a curse as it wipes out "good stuff" along with it. When to see a doctor In general, don't be too concerned about infertility unless you and your partner have been trying regularly to conceive for at least one year.
