"why are boys so messy???? I never did this when I was a kiiiiid. oh wait, I never had a play room to make messy". So then I started thinking and realized all my friends with kids have play rooms (or partial playrooms, like ours). Yes! I swear outside was my second home. We basically had to spend all day outside when it was nice out. No playroom. It's interesting to me that this is a thing! Our eldest boys share a room, so it's hard to make them play and keep all their toys in there. It's kinda crammed already! The biggest toy I had was my Barbie Dream House and my baby dolls. They were all in my bedroom. There was a big space behind our family room couch that had a trunk full of toys and my kiddie table & chairs and my blackboard was kept. So I had a play area. My parents converted it into a real room as an office at some point shortly after we moved in, I don't remember exactly when. So mostly we played in our own rooms!
