@FAMILY First: Welcome! I don't believe you can. I had much better results with the regular (not advanced) but I hope it works for you! :goodluck:

I loved using the CBEFM. It didn't help me get pregnant (due to other issues we found out later) but it was so much easier to use than OPKs. You start on a certain day and use it every day at the same time and there's no risk of you missing your ovulation window. I always got peak days each month too, which helped me know that it wasn't bad timing that was preventing us from getting pregnant. So if you use a CBEFM for a few months and don't get pregnant, talk to your doctor!

@Claire.Peonies: I've used the CBFM and it was pretty good - not the same as their advanced OPK kit at all. They have stricter guidelines about when to start using the monitor, which I think leads to a more accurate interpretation. The regular digital OPK, on the other hand, is pretty accurate for an OPK. (I've used all three!) The advanced kit once gave me a peak reading when every other OPK was negative...and my BBTs backed up the negative OPKs as well. Basically I've found anything is more accurate than that advanced OPK kit!

I have one. Honestly, I don't know that it is worth it for me. But I don't O normally on my own & take fertility meds. Those sticks add up! I've spent a couple hundred on the sticks alone and I buy them off eBay! But we've been trying awhile. I have had better luck using cheapies a couple times a day & charting.

i used the monitor.i never used opk's before but from what i know about them, it seems like it's a bit of a guessing game of whether it's positive. so i wanted something to tell me for sure if i was ovulating or not! hehe. i used the monitor on my 5th month trying and got pregnant that cycle. not sure if it helped since my cycle is pretty regular, but i liked having some kind of confirmation that it happened.

I used it and also got pregnant the first month on it (our third cycle)... it might've been a fluke but I have long-ish cycles (36-38 days) and don't ovulate til CD 18-22, and it def helped :)

@Claire.Peonies: yes. We tried it and used it to get pregnant the first time. I'm actually selling mine because we didn't use it the second time due to DH working out of town, so it was a waste for me to keep buying sticks, etc. since he was always gone when it was time to get busy. :)

Has anyone tried the Clear Blue Fertility Monitor? I have been using their "advanced" ovulation kit- the one with the blinking smiley face/solid smiley face. It is okay, but I am not sure if I should be spot checking to make sure that I don't ovulate later then when I actually get the solid smiley face (my BBT charting is not very good) If you have used the monitor- is it better then the OPKs?

@SallyNy: If you look in the chapter for anovulation, it shows the charts in there. My chart doesn't really seem to match either so I'm confused if I ovulated at all...

I also just began charting and it has me more confused than ever! Like others suggested, I would use fertility friend. And, I started reading Take Charge of Your Fertlity, where she shows you what a chart without ovulation looks like.

@SallyNy: from what you've said, you have some long cycles so you may not have ovulated yet. Fertilityfriend.com does a good job of pinpointing when you've ovulated if you input your info there. good luck!!

This is my first cycle using the monitor. I have longer cycles avg ~36 days... the last two months, I "O"ed according to FF and OPK strips on CD 20ish... this month I didn't get my peak days until CD 25/26 according the monitor and double checked with same OPK strips I used the last few months. I started getting my "high" days from CD 15.

I'm not temping... but you can definitely still have your peak days coming up this week...

This is my second month of using the CBEFM and my first month charting. I purchased the monitor in hopes that it would provide me good direction about my cycle. During the first month I use, I only got low days followed by highs. It never peaked. I then decided to starting charting for the current cycle. I am now on CD24. My chart looks like a series of mountains and temperatures range from 97 to 97.7. It never goes above 97 degrees. The monitor prompted me to POAS on day 10. It was a LOW, followed by 2 more days of LOW. Day 13 through days 24 (today) has been HIGHS.

My cycles were pretty regular throughout my life. Recently, they have been erratic - 42 days, 31 days, 40 days (last three cycles).

Am I not ovulating? Does anyone have any experience with this - no peaks?
