Hope those smiley faces have been coming, lady! I felt trampy yesterday but I am also so new to all of this and might be overanalyzing....still waiting for my first smiley face! (I'm on CD17) . Best of luck to you!

So I still haven't gotten a positive OPK, but am feeling very crampy today. What do you think that means?

@redsmarties- oh if only it were that easy! i took a few pregnancy tests and all BFN.

Yes I started using OPKs on the 1st and will continue till I get that smiley face! It's difficult because I don't know exactly what day I'm in my cycle because I never really got my period.

This might be a ridiculous question, but with just cramps and only spotting...are you sure you're not pregnant now?
Although, if you're just coming off BCP, chances are its pretty wonky.
I ovulate between CD 15-20, and it varies every month. So I'll repeat what PPs said, and recommend that you test with OPKs a few times (at least) a month, maybe from CD13/14 until you get a positive?

everyone's different and every cycle is different - no worries! there's usually a range of days. but typically, your luteal phase is the same.

Thanks ladies! Last month I ovulated around day 17. I'm not even sure what day I'm on now because I didn't really get a period last month. I had menstrual cramps and some spotting but that was it.

I'll keep taking the OPKs!

You know how the full moon does not fall on the same day every month? I was very similar to that, it was always around the full moon, but never on the same day.

My husband would make werewolf comments based on that timing... I will leave it at that :P

its very unlikely that you would ovulate on the same date of every month. Its more about how many days into your cycle you ovulate rather than the calendar date. The same way your period comes every 28 days or so rather than every 6th of the calendar month for instance.

You're not going to ovulate on the same day every month. Think more in weeks than in months. So if you have a "standard" 28 day cycle and ovulate on day 14, then you would have ovulated on 12/3. The day you ovulate will vary and it varies from person to person. It also depends on when you started your period. Don't worry too much. Maybe you haven't ovulated yet.

Your cycle may not be 30 days long so instead of focusing on the date I would focus on how many days into the cycle that you are. For example if your cycle is 32 days long and you get a smiley face on cycle day 15 then you could get a smiley on the 15th of one month and then on the 17th the next month.

I tend to get positive OPKs on CD 10 and CD11 every month. You have to remember to BD before the positive OPKs as well.

So this is our second month TTC. I have been using the Clearblue Easy OPKs and got a smiley face last month on 11/5. I tested today 12/5 and no smiley face!

Ladies that have using OPKs, have you gotten smiley faces or positive results the same day every month or does it vary?
I didn't even really get a period last month (it was my first off BC) so I'm worried that I won't even ovulate this month!
Please calm my fears!!

Thanks!
