I use one of those hanging canvas things with cubbies that are usually used for folder storage. One area for scarves, one for hats, etc. and what're is leftover is good for canvas bags or purses

We've been renoing parts of our house for EVER. Our bedroom is kind of the last room to get done and I need closet doors. So, I went looking and found two different styles.

Most of the doors in our house look like the first style, but I want to know if the second style could work too?

Which do you like better?

Option 1: Panel

I did the same... I organized them by boxes when I moved. One box is "I WILL fit into these again" but I won't beat myself up if I never do. Stuff that has always been on the small side as it is.

Another box of - I just need to lost another 5-10 lbs to fit these

And then I keep my small rotation of clothes either hung or in the dresser.

I will say I can count on one hand all the jeans I wear now. All my old jeans were low cut and now post-pg I HATE low cut jeans. They give me horrible muffin top and are really uncomfortable. My favorite jeans were MEK pre-pg and still are my favorites post, they are mid rise but still designer/trendy jeans that don't scream "mom".

I would say don't sell yet and just wait until bout 6 mos pp to go through them again and see how you feel about individual items. I was surprised how much I loved some items pp that I had never really cared for before. Tastes, styles and fits definitely change! I find myself more concerned with comfortable styles whereas before I was pg I didn't care as long as I looked cute lol

Lots of clothes in tubs right now as I had gained weight since the wedding, not sure I'll ever get into the smaller stuff again but I hope to get into the immediate pre-pregnancy stuff again someday. I did get rid of some stuff that was wearing out or that I didn't really like that much. I'm really worried about shoes even though I don't have expensive designer shoes. I just have already hard to fit feet and if it gets any worse I' ll be in Grandma shoes.

Ugh. No. I don't. I need to sell the clothes but I SUCK at that.

Like nursing inaccessible dresses: good bye! Shirts that are too short because of the bigger breasts: good bye! Clothes that make me look frumpy because they need to be layered and I don't have the energy to layer: good bye!
Pants: KEEP! I have such a hard time finding pants I like. Even if it takes forever I want the pants! I actually fit my pre-preg pants now (too tight, 8 lbs to go!) and I am really glad I didn't give them away.

However keep all shrugs/button ups/cardigans etc: they transform a nursing tank with jeans into a nicely put together outfit!

You know, I totally did this! I thought there was no way I would fit into my pre-pregnancy clothes (I gained a LOT of weight) and I didn't want them around-- mocking me-- later on. Well, I sort of regret letting a few things go because I actually AM back to my pre-preg size.

Also, just a warning about wearing your non-maternity clothes while pregnant... They might stretch and never go back! I lost several skirts and a few tops that way.

Thanks for posting, and good for you! Our closet is awful right now, all my pre-preg clothes are in this ginormous cardboard box that DH puts all his clean laundry on instead of reaching 3 feet up to the actual shelf. You may have given me the motivation to donate all my but my favorite pre-preg stuff... it's just so hard.

@808love - Thanks for confirming what I think is true - that it will take forever to wear them again!

@artbee - Yes, I've given some things here and there to my sister. I think she's going to score massively while I'm preggers!

@Dagret - I'm not giving up on my tops yet, but most of my designer jeans just don't have enough stretch in the thighs right now. I knew they wouldn't be worn for another year. Surprisingly, my cheapie jeans still fit and have the most stretch! And I'm sure some of your dresses can last you till 8 months! I've seen it done - you're not a freak of nature ! ;)

@Looch - Thanks!

I'm 24 weeks today and some of my clothes still fit me (think wrap dresses and tunics, I'm not some kind of freak of nature!) and as those stop fitting I'm just pushing them to the back of the closet.

This is normal behavior. I got these awesome designer denim shorts about 3 months before I got pregnant and I ebayed them while pregnant, assuming they would be out of style by the time I got around to wearing them. I felt a little guilty because they were a Valentine's present.

But, it's true...it takes forever to wear your clothes again. Save your favorites and treat yourself to some new updated mommy styles in another year!

Tonight I got around to cleaning out my closets and filling an entire storage bin full of pre-pregnancy jeans to put away.
Our closets are small so I do a seasonal rotation of clothes (to a spare room closet) twice a year. I decided to move all my tops that I can't wear for at least a year and realized that with pregnancy, breast-feeding, and probably another kid within a couple of years - most of these clothes probably won't see the light of day for YEARS! :/
I'm probably going to slowly start selling some stuff off on eBay and CL. Does this seem like normal behavior? I mean, REALLY Moms out there - do you wear much of your pre-pregnancy clothes anymore after baby comes?
