We just had a spray bottle with water at room temperature which worked well! I'd make sure it wasn't cold from the tap when refilling and it just sat out all day and she didn't seem to mind :)

No experience with this specifically, but could you use an electric kettle? You'd have to make sure it's not too hot, though,

Does anyone have a suggestion for a thermos to use for warm water, for dispensing onto cloth wipes? I want to use warm wipes for my newborn but I don't think I really need a wipe warmer, since eventually I'll just use a spray bottle of room temp water or solution (probably). Plus the wipe warmers I've found online all have very mixed reviews. I am getting tired of going to the bathroom before each change and waiting for the sink water to warm up.

Thanks!

I tried the california diaper area spray and the jury is still out on that. I use disposable wipes but also use cloth too. I mostly fill a small basin with warm water and dip the wipe in there to clean her bottom

We have a stack of cloth wipes (baby wash cloths) and a small bowl of water next to our changing area. Each time we need to wipe his bum, we dip a wipe into the bowl and squeeze out the water. Easy-peasy!

@runsyellowlites: Oooh I like the idea of lavender oil!

@MusicaV: I thought this would probably be easiest solution but I can just picture my clumsy self spilling it everywhere!

@HabesBabe: That sounds like a great combo, loving coconut oil these days. What kind of wash do you use? How many cloth wipes will the Prince Lionheart hold?

@Kemma: Do you bring a small container of the same in your diaper bag? I'm so curious if cloth wipes are a big pain in the a@# when out of the house or not?!

@sloaneandpuffy: This would be perfect if I had room in my bath for a change station...maybe next house ;)

@artbee: I will definitely try out this method, might be less messy.

@Weagle: Do you really like the lotion potion? I'm wondering if something like that is a necessity or just nice to have.

Curious about the different systems everyone uses with their cloth wipes? I've read some pre soak, some spray the babes bum and wipe etc. What works best for you? If you use a certain "spray" or solution other than water what do you recommend?

We have about 25 cloth wipes and I'd be happy to have more! lol 15 are Osocozy flannel (they were cheap on Amazon) and then I have 10 that my sister made me from some extra receiving blankets I had.

I've used the California Baby Bum spray but I had to quit using b/c it broke DD's bottom out & CJ's Butter Plus Spritz. I now make my own wipe solution that I store in the empty CJ's Butter Plus Spritz bottle. I've been playing around with some different solutions... right now I have one that has:

1 tablespoon Sesame Oil (I'm out of Coconut oil)
1 tablespoon EVO
1 tablespoon Dr Bronner's Liquid Castile Soap (mine has tea tree oil in it so I didn't add any more)
2 drops tea tree oil (omitted since my Dr. Bronner's already had it)
1 drop lavender oil
1 cup water
(the Sesame oil has a really strong smell so next time I'll use a bit less)

After using the CJ's plus spritz I really liked all the different oils it used b/c it really kept DD's bottom soft which she's prone to getting chapped & rashes so I wanted my solution to have that same "oily-ness" to it, and the tea tree & lavender help keep yeast away (the CJ's spritz had neem oil). Plain water seems to not wipe as smoothly IMO.

I use baby washcloths as wipes. We had received several packs as gifts and they are way cheaper than most cloth wipes. I have a small spray bottle with water and use that for cleaning.

How many you need depends on how big they are (if they are small you many need multiple for a big mess) and if you will wipe with every diaper change. Also consider how many times per week you will wash and the number of poops per day you baby typically has. I guess we could write a formula to figure it out, lol

If you use disposable wipes with cloth diapers you have to have a garbage for them. The cloth wipes are less work, I think.

Until the past couple of months we used cloth wipes. We just had flannel fabric cut/hemmed and had a spray bottle with water. We would wet as necessary. We have a lot- maybe 40 or 50 but only ended up using about 20/25 in rotation.
