@Tanjowen: We had that one and ended up returning it. DD liked to be touching me when she slept and the stiff sides on it made it awkward/uncomfortable for me to drape my arm over it. I think the firmness of the mattress could also affect how well it works because the co-sleeper is super light. When we had a less firm, more worn in mattress, and the co-sleeper was between us, it would tilt toward my husband's side when he laid down because he's a lot heavier than I am. So DD would kind of roll. We ended up just co-sleeping for a bit but if I had to do it again I'd get an arms reach co-sleeper or side car the crib.

We had an in bed sleeper and only used it like 4 times (and not at all for LO2). I just sold it, actually. Have you looked into something like an Arm’s Reach cosleeper or a Halo Bassinest? They are more expensive, but you can find them on BST sites fairly often!

@codeitall: @Synchronicity: Ah man, this is making me think I should scrap this idea and just go for a rock n play instead. :meh:

We have the Summer Infant Sure and Secure Sleeper (looks very similar to the one you posted) and it fit ok in our king sized bed. R slept decently in it, but she's such a noisy sleeper that it didn't work for me to have her that close to my head so two weeks in we've already ditched it.

We ended up with this one: https://www.amazon.com/First-Years-Secure-Sleeper-Colors/dp/B00012CHFI/ref=pd_sbs_75_1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=G91QZA4BC740MW45Y683

And honestly, DD never took to it. It turned into a container for my glasses and kindle for middle of the night wakeups. And a barrier for my husband to stop from rolling my direction and squishing the baby :silly:

I did like the nightlight on it and the softness. In fact, my toddler loved pretending it was a boat on my bed.

Anyone use an in bed co-sleeper that they loved for the first few weeks? I do not want to spend a ton of money because I intend to only use it for the first 6 weeks or so, but want something safe and comfortable. I used a bassinet with my first and hated having to get out of bed to lift him out every 2 hours.

We have a king sized bed, so size is not an issue. I am eyeing this one on Amazon:
