@josina: i took at 1-3 colace per day for like a month after all of my births. miralax was a bit too much, but the colace just kept things more comfortable and on-schedule :)

@Pumuckl: sounds like what the Dr. described to me too, but man does it hurt!
@LAZB: and I thought I was going to get by this time without the meds. Maybe I had it with my first but I was taking pain meds already so didn't notice as much.
@IRunForFun: I hope this doesn't last too much longer. No fun.

I had something similar although it maybe wasn't as bad and only lasted a couple days. I actually thought it was bloating/gas from a dose of miralax I had take , but the explanations above make way more sense! :)

Yep, me too. Peeing/having to pee was also uncomfortable for weeks.

Yep. It happened to me and I was given a similar explanation as @Pumuckl:

And actually I'm almost 6 weeks PP and the signs that I have to go to the bathroom still feel different than pre-pregnancy. More urgent and crampy.

Yes, since I was still at the hospital I asked the doctor and she explained that when the uterus retracts that the intestines move back to their normal place as well. That can cause cramping and pain.

Yes, definitely the worst part of recovery for me. I didn't really have it after my first year, but after my third it was really bad

I am 9 days postpartum and have had such an easy recovery this time except for what feels like constipation pains starting on Sunday. I've had pretty regular bm's. Sunday I went fine that morning and then in the afternoon had bad cramping. Same Monday even though I took some milk of magnesia and pretty much cleared out my system. Yesterday no pain at all and I didn't have a bm, then today after a normal BM extreme pain (8-9). I took some midol which helped but even now 4 hours later just passing gas hurts, although the constant pain is gone. I called the Dr. And they told me it's normal pp. Anyone else have experience with this?
