We debated between then 4.0s and the Freetime, and decided on the Freetime because our families are already totally weirded out by the idea of cloth diapers. We figured using an AIO would be easiest on them (and on us, 2 full-time working parents). We also thought daycare might like us a bit more if they didn't have to stuff and/or separate diapers and liners.

I think it's a personal preference thing. We really love our Elementals, but I have a couple pocket diapers and I have to say you just need to figure out what is less annoying to you: stuffing pockets, or having to spray more when it comes to solid poops. (I personally would choose the latter any day, which is why we have AIOs).

I love, love, love my 4.0s. We have 25 of them. :) The crotch is fairly wide, so stuffing is a breeze. It takes me like 5 minutes while sitting watching TV.

@tororojo: It looks like they are currently running a sale:

CVRLUV - Free cover with $29 purchase

Remember you can add even more cloth diapers to your stash by pairing the Buy 5, Get 1 deal with our FREE bumGenius 4.0 in Bubble or Sweet offer. Just add the ALMOST or YOU DECIDE product to your cart and enter the appropriate coupon code at check out. Both offers are only valid while supplies last.

I would maybe try to just add the 4.0 and see what happens?

We use elemental, they didn't have free time when we bought them or I would have gotten them. Like you said, we use an extra hemp liner for over night. Personally, I love them. I think they're very easy peasy and make cloth diapers as easy as they can be. They go from the dryer to the diaper basket, no stuffing.

Also, wasn't there a code you could add to that cotton babies sale that got you an extra free diaper in one of the bubble or sweet colors?

One disadvantage of All-in-One diapers can be that poo gets stuck in the layers of the diaper. The pockets are one smooth surface with the insert tucked inside so there is nothing the poo gets caught on.

I would honestly think about trying both. They are both VERY different. I have the Elementals (organic and fully attached).

we use the free time, because the inserts are semi attached so they dry much faster. we dont have to stuff anything or insert anything, its an all in one diaper

DH and I are debating between 4.0 and Freetime. Do you use BumGenius diapers? If so, which kind, how do you like them and why? We want to take advantage of the current CottonBabies sale...is there anything 4.0s can do that Freetimes can't? From what I understand, you can use extra liners in either for heavy wetters/overnight. Thoughts?
