I don't have a home Doppler, but A is always in the exact same spot at my appointments: head down, back on my right, legs on the left.

In the first trimester, baby was slightly to my left (viewers right). I felt baby there and ultrasound confirmed.

At 14 weeks, I used my home fetal doppler and noticed baby is now in the middle.

I'm guessing baby was leftish but as he or she got bigger, they "filled out" my uterus.

E moved around a lot, but G was in the same place pretty much my whole pregnancy. I had to get constant ultrasounds with her, and from 16 weeks on the tech would comment on how she was using the placenta (which was high and anterior) as a pillow. She ended up being a breech C-section because she was too lazy to move, lol!

When I use my Doppler (every few nights), baby is always in the same spot. I'm 18w5d, and it's been like this the entire pregnancy, although higher up now than when I first found him.
Isn't baby supposed to be moving around? I can't remember how it was with my other two, but pretty sure they weren't always in the same exact spot.
I also haven't been feeling as much movement as I did with my other two at this point, so I'm wondering if I just have a lazy baby on my hands.

i used my doppler every day 2-3 times a day (yeah i have serious anxiety issues!) from weeks 12-20 until i could feel the movement more often. lo is perfectly healthy now! :) really don't stress yourself out.

if you ever have to have a non-stress test during your pregnancy you'll be hooked up to a doppler for at least 20 mins and that's at the doctor's office! a lot of women have multiple non-stress tests throughout their pregnancies!

You are totally fine!! It's not like you had it on there for hours...I think it would be the same as an ultrasound and when they do the 20 week scans they are looking around for sometimes up to an hour! Don't worry, baby is fine :)

So I got a home doppler yesterday and was SUPER excited to use it. My DH and I spent probably about 10 minutes off and on trying to find the heartbeat and then finally did. After about a minute we turned it off. Now I'm reading that you shouldn't use it more than 10 minutes a day or else it can cause damage. I'm worried I hurt my baby taking so long to figure it out...especially since it's not like I timed how long we used it.

Of course in the future I'll know where to look now and should get it quickly, but anyone want to help me feel better?

That is exactly why I did not use the one we have at work, I would absolutely freak, although everything is more than likely just fine! Remember that you have to really pay for a good quality doppler, most home dopplers suck.

There were several visits where the medical assistant had a hard time finding the heartbeat at appointments. She just had to keep looking for a while before finding it finally. Made me so nervous every time!

I gave my home doppler to my best friend with the warning that if she called me crying that she couldn't find the heartbeat I would drive the 1.5 hours to her house to smack her silly, lol - I could find the heartbeat most of the time but it definitely had to do with the position. And I also felt that I had to point it way further down than I thought I would have to most of the time.

OP - I read something online when I was using mine that if you lay down flat on a hardwood floor and point it down towards your public bone and angle it, going very slow side to side - that's the best way to find it. And that is what worked for me.
