I add coconut oil or butter to everything! You can even add some cereals (the baby kind) to pouches or other foods to up the calories.

I would try smoothies with added avocado, coconut milk, or peanut/nut/sunflower seed butters. You can also find coconut milk ice cream that is very good.

I have to eat dairy and gluten free right now, and I eat alot of avocado and coconut to get healthy fats.

@MrsRcCar: for teething, have you tried frozen crinkle fries? My LO loves them. The texture and cold are very soothing, especially with his molars, they're the perfect shape to get back to the molars, whereas some of the teething rings he has just don't make it back there. We use sweet potato crinkle fries!

@Applesandbananas: I wish he would eat a pouch cold. He will only eat them room temp or warmer. I will have to try avocado with him. We don't generally have it in the house but I am willing to try anything.

I second the pouches! My LO is younger but cold pouches are a hit with teething. My friends LO has issues gaining weight so she gives him avocado in a reusable pouch with Spider-Man on it and tells him it's his superhero juice.

On a spoon, he gags and spits out avocado like it's the worst thing ever. (She does avocado because it's high in good fats and her LO has food allergies but you could do it with anything!)

@jodyblair: he is hit or miss with pouches.
@Greentea: I hadn't thought to hard about smoothies. I am going to have to try it.

I am trying to find options with a good amount of good fats and protein.

You could make him smoothies? Literally anything can go in a smoothie, even hardboiled egg and veggies!

Will he eat pouches? When my son is teething and doesn't want to chew food, he will almost always eat a pouch.

N is almost 20 months old and is teething! He is cutting 8 teeth presently. He used to be such a great eater but recently he would rather drink his meals then chew it. I assume this because his mouth hurts but I need to figure out a way to keep weight on him. This is complicated by the fact that he has to be dairy and gluten free.

Bees I need ideas to help my toddler keep his weight on that he will like.
