They don't plow the roads where I live and so I drive on snow for a good chunk of the year. In both places, for many years I drove the worst car for snow- rear wheel drive sports car with manual transmission and no antilock brakes. In the MOUNTAINS and then in icey Wisconsin.</p> <p>The simplest motto is WI's motto: snow = slow. Crowning achievement was on a trip to Toronto in what was even for them a historic snowfall, driving my friends in rush hour in a foot of snow to go see a show downtown. (Since of course there was still a rush hour, nobody in Toronto stays home for multiple feet of snow). In my little compact car with no chains. We made it! I'm in Ontario so driving in snow is just something that you do for several months of the year. I pulled over (into a gas station) until it stopped.
