Yes, mostly, although I've gotten stuck a few times! They don't plow the roads where I live and so I drive on snow for a good chunk of the year. Just go slow, start to break well before you think you have to, and keep your wheels straight if you start to get stuck.

I don't like it, but I am kind of amazing. For real though!

I lived in the rocky mountains and am from the great lakes tundra. In both places, for many years I drove the worst car for snow- rear wheel drive sports car with manual transmission and no antilock brakes. In the MOUNTAINS and then in icey Wisconsin.

The simplest motto is WI's motto: snow = slow. Remember any car is dangerous in snow if you don't drive slowly with caution.

No, I avoid it like the plague. I had to a few times in college and all I think about now is when I tried to stop at a stoplight and my car just kept going (luckily it was like 5am so the roads were empty).

It's been years, but I'm from the East coast and had to drive in snow a lot in my teens and 20s and was quite competent at it then. Crowning achievement was on a trip to Toronto in what was even for them a historic snowfall, driving my friends in rush hour in a foot of snow to go see a show downtown. (Since of course there was still a rush hour, nobody in Toronto stays home for multiple feet of snow). In my little compact car with no chains. We made it! I sure was glad the drinking age in Canada was 19 and therefore I could buy a drink when we arrived, though, because man did I need it.

Yup, I'm good at it.

@erinbaderin: very true, my area does an awful job preparing for snow/ice and it causes a lot of problems. Then, there's the people who haven't a clue how to drive in snow (slamming on brakes, accelerating quickly, etc) which puts everyone in danger.

It's funny, I never thought about this as something you could be good or not good at. I'm in Ontario so driving in snow is just something that you do for several months of the year. I would guess that we're a lot better prepared for it than in other places that don't get much snow - winter tires, salters, etc.

I'm going to say no. I've never driven a car in the snow (I don't think a UTV off road counts for this discussion!). It hailed here a couple years ago and that was horrible. I pulled over (into a gas station) until it stopped. It just doesn't snow/hail/anything out here and I've never lived anywhere that it does.

Yes. When I got my license at 16 my dad would take me to empty parking lots and make me throw the car into spins and stuff, or make me get myself stuck in a snowbank and get out again. Important life skills when you live in the Rocky mountains :P
