Carter's makes HUGE bibs (I think for eating) that are relatively waterproof (they are terry but don't soak through very easily, I think they have a plastic layer) and they come in sets of 3. I just bought RJ two more packs. He is a crazy drooler-- at 2 years old!! he goes through at least 2 bibs a day. oh and the bibs close with a snap, not velcro-- much better for older kids who can pull them off!

I found that Green Sprouts bibs worked the best for my son. He was a drooling machine for months, and the bibs held up very well. It stays wet on the front and dry on the back.

Kiddo is 6 months and still drooling a TON. We have the Gerber bibs that have the plastic backing but they aren't big enough to reach around his neck any longer. His nice A&A Muslim bibs don't really do a good job. Anyone else have any suggestions? I really hope his tooth comes in soon!

I use unbleached 4x8x4 cloth diaper prefolds, and I do use infant size. They work well for me!

I totally second Owlmom. The osocozy prefolds are much softer and more absorbent than the Gerber ones I got. They work great. At some point we gave up on the drool and just changed his shirt/onesie an extra time or two each day. There was no way to keep up with the drool and it soaked his bib through to his shirt anyway.

I like cloth diapers as burp cloths as well. I also have some terry cloth burp cloths from Just Born that are cute, patterned & cheap that I use while out & about.

@venice4504: We have the "regular" size. I think they're 4x6x4's. Really, any diaper service quality, 100% cotton (Indian or Chinese) non-infant size prefolds will work. I think infant or small size prefolds (which I have for cloth diapering) are too small to be good burp clothes.

We use prefolds. We have Osocozy Chinese cotton prefolds, which I highly recommend as burp clothes, and gerber prefolds, which I hate. The osocozies are thick and soft - totally worth the extra money.

I have heard great things about using cloth diaper pre-folds as burp cloths. And I was looking on Etsy at getting some monogrammed ones but does anyone else have a good suggestion on what to use for a baby that is now drooling like crazy? Oh, and he's also now doing a spit-up burp. So greeeeeat.
