I think my little bean is teething - and she is 14.5 weeks. Same symptoms as your LO - grumpy, chewing her hands constantly, drooling. She has also had a little touch of diarrhea. Poor little things.

My LO had all of those symptoms a couple weeks ago. He just cut his first tooth last week. Things returned to normal once it broke through. He is 4.5 months.

I don't know about some of those issues, but at that age, Xander was drooling non-stop and constantly chewing/sucking on his fingers to the point where he'd stop nursing to stick his fingers in his mouth! But he didn't cut his first teeth for a few months after that!!! So I think the fingers in the mouth was just a new novel thing to him and didn't necessarily mean he was teething.

Definitely sounds like she's teething with her fingers in her mouth constantly. Both of my boys were late teethers (11 months and 10 months) and definitely weren't good eaters when they were cutting teeth. My 19-month-old is cutting his 4th molar right now and is pushing food that he normally gobbles up away before he's done. And he's Mr. Cranky pants for sure. Try some prune juice (I think it was like 1/2 teaspoon?) in with her milk to see if that helps. I remember my son's ped said that if there is no poop for 7 days to bring him in. Won't hurt to make a call in to her ped's office to see if you should take her in to be seen. My son's ped's office back in the states had a nurse line so I could talk to a nurse first. They were always very helpful. I hope your LO feels better soon!

First time mom and I'm at a bit of a loss with what's going on with my LO. Reading forums and Dr. Google has me convinced I have a colicky constipated teething baby with reflux going through a four-month sleep regression - it can't be all of those!

For the last four days my LO has not been herself:
- she's a drooly baby, going through 8 or so bibs a day -- this has now increased substantially (its pouring out!) and upped to about a dozen bibs a day!
- she's persistently chewing on her fingers. She's a baby, she chews things, but the last four days she's stopped nursing to chew on her fingers. They're in there near-constantly.
- her sleep sucks. She hasn't been a really good sleeper so far, just 3-4 hours stretches. Those are now 1-2.5 hours. Yuck! Daytime naps haven't changed (30 mins)
- my happy baby cries and screams now for what seems no reason.
- some spit up after eating, sometimes an hour later, more than usual. smells sour.
- I combo feed due to low-supply. She usually gets a 1-3 bottles a day (milk or formula). She's had 0 in the last four days, outright refusing them (or just chewing on the nipple).
- She stops during nursing to roll away and cry and scream. She kicks and there's some back arching.
- Her poops are smaller.

I'm at a loss ladies. Like I said, these symptoms are normal for babies and also for a myriad of infant issues. Any ideas?

My mom got one for us from Amazon after his second nursing strike when he was around 20 weeks old. No more nursing strikes and it greatly reduced drooling. We had no issues with teething until he got to all four molars coming in at once. I can't say 100% that it works, because I'm afraid to take it off, and he is super easy going- but comparing him with babies at similar stages, I think it's working.

@sloaneandpuffy: thanks!

@hilsy85: I know a lot of bees got theirs from Inspired By Finn. I bought 2 when I saw them on BabySteals by Mon Petit Mardi. Both have websites and there are a bunch on Etsy. You just want the ones that are Baltic Amber. And I read, unpolished has more of the acid.

@JerricaBenton: I've read people wrap it around an ankle and put it under the sleeper or a sock while sleeping.

After reading this post the other day I was inspired to get out L's amber necklace but I also thought it was a little too long for me to just leave on her right now, especially when we're out and I can't reach her in the car seat. I think for maximum effect you're supposed to leave it on while they sleep too - I don't think I can ever do that! It is so cute though!

@hilsy85: Ours was a gift, but I think the pouch said Art of the Cure

I put one on Jax when he was about 13 weeks. He was soaking shirts with drool and even going through bibs. He even got a little rash from being wet, even though I thought I was on top of it. It stopped the drooling almost completely until his teeth started to actually cut through and then only lasts for a couple days.

He never really noticed he even had it on, since it sat under his clothes most of the time. It's only been recently (11 months) that he has grabbed it here or there, but I just distract him from it, and he forgets about it all over again.

When did you start using the Baltic Amber Teething necklace if you have one? I've read it can help with drooling, and while K is still too young for teething, she is a drool dribbler! Did anyone have god luck with that? She's going through bibs like crazy!

I bought 2 necklaces and actually think they're cute too. So wondering when I can start using them on her. I tried once a couple weeks ago, but it still seemed too big, like she could get it caught in her mouth, so I took it off right away.
