I have enjoyed a lot of Jojo Moyes lately! Some are historical and they move quickly but are well written.

I love to read, but just don't do a lot of it these days. We are going on vacation on Saturday for a week, and although I know I won't have a lot of time to read, I was hoping for some book suggestions. My 14 month old DD will keep me on my toes a lot, and I'll be 10 weeks pregnant, so energy is low and napping is a priority, so any suggestions for easy reads that don't take a lot of focus? I really like historical fiction, but enjoy lots of different types of reads.

Also, we dealt with reflux, so she wasn't allowed to lay down for 30 minutes after eating, so we had to keep her up but couldn't bounce/jolt/move her too much...there was a fine line of keeping her stimulated without causing her to lose her entire bottle.

For us, we fed when hungry, we had to follow her lead, there was no way around it. I did make sure to not rock when feeding, that was a sure way for her to sleep, and I always kept all the blinds open during the day/light in when I wanted her to be awake so there was no confusion.

Some people have luck with the EASY schedule, and our ped said the Activity could be as simple as a diaper change at that age. I wasn't a fan, as it made it much harder to get him to sleep (especially at night).

We implemented this with our LO when we found he wasn't really doing well with feeding to sleep. Our schedule looked like this:

Wake to feed
Play for an hour
Rocked to sleep

The bad habit we formed was rocking to sleep, but he was super colicky, so we were holding him constantly. We would always wake to feed though until it was time for bed.

EDIT: When I say wake to feed, I mean that we would wait for him to wake up, then feed him. We never woke a sleeping baby! Especially throughout the night!

Hi ladies,

With my son he was always in the habit of going to sleep after eating. I would like to not start that habit this time and get this babe to eat AFTER sleeping. Or is this the wrong way? My DS was bottle fed after 2-3 months but with this baby I'm hoping to EBF for the most part. I don't mind nursing to sleep before bed and in the MTTN wake ups. But during the day I would like to avoid that because I think baby eats better when they are alert and awake. I think this will help encourage better night sleeping if she can get most her food during the day!

any tips for this or when did you start doing that? the downfall is I will be delivering early so baby could have a longer period of the newborn sleepiness.

ETA, sorry, I didn't see the $20 limit. I'm also a designer, and I agree that its a small limit for something we would spend a good amount of time on... Maybe you can find something already designed that just needs a few words changed.

If you want a custom invitation -- that is, a design that no one else is using -- then I think your expectations might be slightly too high. I design invitations and when I create a custom invitation, after all is said and done, I've put in a few hours -- I'd definitely want more than $20 for it, even if I'm just sending you the PDF file.

If you're just looking for a good designer who has invitations in your theme and can customize the name, date, etc., perhaps you can post your theme and one of us can help you find someone of interest!

I just came across this link while perusing a favorite blog of mine. I think it's a genius way for sharing the big news! I've been Facebook-free for about 9 months now and just recently I sent out individual emails to share the news that we are expecting. It was great to reconnect with good friends, but it was pretty time consuming to write all of those emails.

While the convenience of pushing out information to a lot of people all at once was nice on FB, I don't miss the distraction at all. I also don't miss the way it used to control a lot of my free time. It's not to say that I haven't easily found new social media outlets to fill the void, but most of those outlets aren't ways for me to share the big news.

https://www.bornyet.com/

It allows you to register a domain name. You can use a real name or a fun one. Then you send it out to your friends and family. You can include registry information. And once your baby arrives it looks like a pretty simple process to update the website and then people receive notice!

Take a look at the site for more information - scroll down on the initial page. I thought it was worth sharing.

How do you plan to share the big news once your baby arrives?
