I haven't had a good experience with elastic back shoes. They pinch/rub. I have to put a Band-Aid on or use the no-rub stick to prevent chaffing.

I've never had good luck with elastic-backed flats. They always end up giving me blisters and I end up hobbling/limping around after a few hours...not a good look.

The pairs I've had have have rubbed and given me blisters. Once I get past that they are comfy though.

I should add that there is a new company based out of my old city (Edmonton, Alberta) called Poppy Barley that make bespoke flats and boots (soon to be heeled boots too)!! They aren't crazy cheap but they are crrrrraaaazy expensive. I just ordered two pairs today. I cannot wait!

for some reason the elastic backed shoes and my feet just don't work out. my fave flats are the jcrew cece flats! :-) they have a hidden tiny tiny ever so slight wedge hidden inside that really prevent the back from rubbing IMO!

Generally they don't work for me at all, but I did find one pair that is very slight and is so soft! (Sam edelman felicity)

I also have a few pairs of Tory Burch shoes that I looooove and found insanely comfortable, mostly because of the elastic! It holds my foot in place--no rubbing or anything awkward like that!

I have a couple of pairs with elastic in the back. One pair (Tory Burch) I never found comfortable and stopped wearing them, but the other (Cole Haan) killed my heels at first but once I broke them in, I was in love! No tips though, I just endured the pain for a week or two

I like them! I feel like the back of my foot is really bony so the elastic is a better fit for me. One pair I have though, I had to break in, so I did a lot of stretching by hand and that helped! Usually no breaking in is necessary if there is elastic though.

Just wondering how you ladies feel about shoes that have elastic. There are some I've tried that really dig into the back of my heels and make me wonder how it will ever get comfortable! Does it get better or not? Any tips on making them rub less and more comfortable?
