I have my primary account that I use for real communication (friends, family, etc) and a separate account that I use when I sign up for things (online shopping, newsletters, HB, contacting random companies, etc)</p> <p>This keeps my primary account nice and clean and when my phone dings I know it's something I'll actually want to read rather than junk.</p> <p>SO my big question is how do you handle email with a LO? I'm thinking of making a third account to use for daycare (eventually school...), Mom groups, etc so I don't get tons of crap in my regular email but they don't get lost in the eleven billion shopping emails I get each day.</p> <p>Does anyone else do that? I work with my family and we are a very small business as well. I went out on bed rest for 3 months prior to being on maternity leave so I simply stated that I was going to be out indefinitely (because we didn't know when I would deliver/how long I'd be on bed rest) and that I would be returning sometime in the spring 2013. </p> <p>I think the suggestions made my previous posters are perfect. I will be returning X. In my absence, you can contact the following people for assistance". And then i broke it down by subject and hyperlinked the contact info for the person so they could just click it and not have to search for them. At the bottom, it says, "you can also contact my manager, X. If he is unavailable, his manager is X". </p> <p>Very simple and to the point.</p> <p>I actually sent out an email to the teams I support about 6 weeks in advance saying who to talk to in my absence. It was a good heads up email in case I did go early, but may not be suitable for your situation. All of those emails were dumped into a database, and manually reviewed by an army of paralegals... I and my family had emailed personal stuff to his work email, so all of that stuff was in there. Awesome.</p> <p>Years later I got sued and had to voluntarily turned over any email and/or saved chat that might even be tangentially related to the matter at hand. Again, a lot of very personal material ended up going into discovery.</p> <p>Now I save almost nothing.
