Uh we had grandma care 3 days a week and it cost us more than any other option.

Now DS is at a state certified in home daycare for $1000 a month with 2 snacks and lunch provided....but you pay for all holidays and any days missed. This month between MLK and being sent home sick, they got 5 days paid for free!

Add that to our back up sitter who we have to pay $13 an hour, and it's more like $1200 this month.

A nationally accredited center in our area is like $1600-1800 a month. But the wait lists for those centers are 18 months long!

We will be switching DS to a 2's program at a local church preschool in September and that is currently $755 a month and they provide two snacks, you bring lunch. Infant toddler care there (where we hope to get LO2 who I am 6 months pregnant with into before the age of 1) is $900 a month and you provide every single thing.

Yeah I would definitely think your poll could go a lot higher. We pay a little over $1400/mo for full time infant care, and that's in one of the cheapest centers in our region, *and* a 20% discount through my husband's employer (normal rate for full time infant care at that center would be $1760/mo). Most daycare centers we toured were closer to, or above, $2000/mo.
