I did for a little bit, but didn't realize that's what it was until I was hooked up to the monitor at the hospital! They just felt like baby was moving funny.

I had a lot of BH with my second and probably some but not too many with my first. I think they are more common or noticeable with subsequent pregnancies. It was never false labor for me though because BH felt much different than real contractions even in early labor.

I am 35 weeks, have yet to feel a Braxton hicks. My mom and grandmother both said they had a lot of Braxton hicks at night in the last 2 weeks of pregnancy, and I read a lot about that in birth stories. Just wondering how common it is.

Thanks for all the tips! Here's the update: The pain was so bad by late Monday night we went into OB Triage for some relief and to see if I was in active labor. No change at 1am, or at 6am when I left. I stayed up the rest of the night because of super painful contractions every 3-5 minutes, no relief from 2 baths and a shower. Walked to my 11am doctor appointment to beg for some help, and I was at 6cm and 100%! So we walked over to the hospital (so slowly!) and our baby boy was born by C section at 1pm!

I had false labor for weeks leading up to delivery.

Hot showers, chugging two bottles of water and laying on my left side helped fizzle them down.

Eta: I also got the ok to take Tylenol for pain.

No good tips but if a shower feels nice would a heating pad help at all? On your back of course...I have been blessed w/several bouts of pregnancy kidney stones and given the okay for 10 mins of heating pad use at a time. So if it would help, you could use one sparingly!

I had prodromal labor for a few weeks and it went away when I started my leave early. I think I was just too stressed & not hydrated enough. I actually ended up going to 41 weeks and being induced!

I am with you, it's no fun! I am at 36 weeks and haven't been checked yet so I don't know if they are causing progress. Emptying my bladder frequently is the most helpful thing for me- even though I sometimes need to do cat/cow or down dog to get baby off my bladder so I can actually go. Walking exacerbates then for me but laying on my left side helps.

My midwife wasn't concerned last week after a non stress test showed a bunch of them so really I have just been ignoring them and trying to walk through them- walking or bending over the counter helps when they hurt but like it's tricky since the more I walk the more I have.

Sorry I wrote a not very helpful novel but my fingers are crossed for you and I am curious to hear what others have to say!

I am 35.5 weeks today and have been experiencing prodromal (aka "false" labor) for 48 hours. I got checked today and am 2cm dilated and 90% effaced. Which could all mean nothing. I am in a ton of pain from the contractions, and would love something to stop them- all of the tips I have read are to jumpstart active labor, and I would still like to hang out for a while if I can (really want to make it to 37 weeks). Any ideas on stopping the contractions but not bringing on labor? So far the only thing that feels good is a hot shower, and walking, while not easy, gets them to stop for a short while.
