He is still in feeding therapy but no longer needs to be followed by the intensive feeding team. D had issues for he longest time but by closer to age two, he became pretty much a. Normal eater. I wished forever for soups etc. he was terrible with a straw cup. DH started school and a new job, leaving me to solo parent m-th. Also this week both of my boys went for evals with speech and feeding. </p> <p>N had his appointment on Tuesday. He has been in speech and OT services since December. I think he is doing wonderful and I wasn't sure he would qualify for speech services here. However after his testing she informed me that not only does he qualify but he is at 18 month range for expressive speech and 21 months for receptive speech. N is going to 3 in the fall. She also pushed hard to get his hearing checked out again because of his speech. I know that his speech isn't great but it really hurt to hear that she thought he was so far behind. :crying: </p> <p>E had his appointment today with the feeding therapist. Generally he gags and throws up his food. He also struggles with thin liquids, I am pretty sure he aspirates some fluid. It took forever to finally get in with the feeding people and he did great today. However she noted his texture aversion and his extremely small "safe" sips of thin liquids. He acted like an angel and made me look loony at this appointment. The therapist wants to wait and see him after early intervention does their large assessment of his behavior. She also advised me to take videos of E at meal time to show the doctors and therapist so they could understand what he was doing. </p> <p>I guess I am just feeling defeated this week. Thank you for reading. I am not sure what I need but it feels better to have it out there. </p>
