I think it's fairly gender neutral (with the coloring). My LO hated it when she was small, liked it around 3ish months, and loved it shortly thereafter . . . she still loves it now at almost 11 months (she weighs right around 18 pounds). My LO is on the smaller side, so she's not even close to the weight limit.
