Great posts and information- subscribing and checking to see if there are any new opinions out there.

I want to do some cloth diapering along with disposable, and there are so many choices out there, this helps a lot! I had no idea that they have disposable liners for cloth diapers too.

A little late to the party, but I thought I'd add that we use gdiapers and love them. We mostly use the cloth because I find they leak less than the flushable inserts. We use the g-cloth inserts, but I think going with any old cloth diapers is cheaper and smart (which it sounds like you did). We do use the flushable inserts when we travel, and I love that we have that option, even though after using cloth, the flushables seem so expensive! I only flush them if I KNOW the plumbing where I am can handle it... otherwise, if I'm not sure, I toss them or compost them knowing it will biodegrade eventually (unlike disposables).

@MH.Abroad: Thanks so much, I will definitely check them out, too! My local store didn't have those so I hadn't heard of them before.
@sandy: Thanks! I am only going to get one cheap box of the cloth and if we don't like them, we'll just just use the cloth as rags or spit up cloth or something. I am very much looking forward to the flushable inserts!

I use the gfills with my gdiapers - the flushables and I LOVE THEM! I love not carrying a giant trash bag of disposables out every few days...it is very satisfying for me to just flush it down the toilet and to wash the liners and gpants when they are soiled.

My baby is currently 10 weeks and pretty big for her age (she was 12 pounds at her 2 month check up) and she is still in the size small and no leaks with the gfills.

I did buy a BUNCH of the gcloth, but I don't like them as much...I gave up on them pretty quick b/c I had some leaks. If anyone is interested I would be willing to sell the size small gcloths for a discount. I have about 30 of them that I prepped while I was pregnant, but I have only used about 5 of them once or twice...the rest are unused.

I may try using gcloth again, but it's hard because the gfills are so easy :). I HIGHLY recommend gdiapers with the flushables :)

P.S. GroVia also sells very good quality disposable liners to use with cloth inserts, and some of the best cloth wipes, if you're thinking of using those.

Just a thought - you might also be interested in GroVia hybrids. They also allow you to switch between disposable inserts and cloth ones, but they are size adjustable, so you can use them longer instead of buying new ones each size change. https://www.gro-via.com/hybrid/grovia-shell-snap-closure.html

My friend who is the cloth diaper queen HATES gDiapers. And she had tried a bunch out and can usually point out the positives of each kind, but will not recommend these.

Also, many brands have flushable liners (GroVia for example) but again, you only would want to flush if you are on a city sewer system (aparently they have a "grinder" unlike septic systems)

@pastemoo: no we didn't, and the reason was a selfish one...I wanted to establish a routine first for the baby, then figure out washing diapers. I also had no idea how big my son would be, so I didn't want to invest too much money in a size he might wear for a limited time.

I have never used the liners, when we travel somewhere I need to be conscious of water usage, I use disposables. I don't trust the plumbing enough to be able to handle the diapers...most plumbers would tell you not to flush anything other than toilet paper into your septic or sewer system anyway.

On any given day, I only have to deal with one cover that might need to be washed. So, if I am doing diaper laundry, I don't have to wash and dry the entire diaper, like with a pocket. I just have to wash 6 liners and a cover. I got a bundle of 6 covers from diapers.com, they often have 20% off sales, so watch for those.

Some people seem to really love gdiapers but for me it seems silly to throw away/flush part of the diaper if you'll already be washing the other part. It seems simpler to me to just wash the whole thing...that's what we do with pocket diapers.

People tend to either love or hate gdiapers. Usually it seems like it is based on the fit they get with LO. Because of the mixed reviews, I went with flip diapers. Similar to gdiapers but the cover/liner is one piece and its one less step to get the diaper on.

By the time DS arrived, I was sold on cloth diapering so we have a mix of flip diapers and pockets. Most of the disposable flip inserts are sitting unused since we love cloth.

we use g diapers with the cloth inserts, i've had no issue with them at all. once you get the hang of it and have a system, they're really easy to use.

my son is of average height and weight, not super skinny but not chunky. we only got the medium sized g pants, which we are still able to use. eventually, i'll get the large size.

We use gDiapers and have been happy, though we don't have much to compare with! We do have a few simple insert diapers that we overstuff and use at night with plastic pants and I definitely prefer gDiapers to those, because it's less washing (you only wash what gets wet/dirty, so usually not the cover). We used the disposable inserts at first when we went out, but when we ran out we started using the cloth inserts all the time.

@skibobrown: I hope so, too! I am pretty crafty though, so I can sew anything that needs to be fixed.
The reviews are pretty polarized--like anything on the web. Anyone who is only so-so on a product won't bother to review it.

I'm hoping it works for us. If it doesn't... well the first pack isn't too much $$.

We originally looked into gDiapers, but I read some less than favorable reviews, so we decided to go with full on cloth in the end. I think most of the negative reviews I read were fit specific, so basically some babies did well with gDiapers, but some babies didn't fit into the diapers very well. Hopefully your baby will be in the 1st category!

@artbee: $$ isn't an issue for us. We are very good at budgeting for what we find valuable. I am fine to give up something else for this one seeming way more convenient thing.

Dear Bees,

Thank you for finding gdiapers for me! I can't figure out which thread I learned about them from, but I know it was you, bees!

My husband is totally against cloth diapers because he doesn't want to deal with poop and the washing machine.

Well... gdiapers also deals with MY issue of *I-don't-want-piles-and-piles-of-dirty-diapers-piling-up issue. My trash bin is very far from our apartment, so taking out the trash every day will be a major pain.

We can use the flushable (yay! not so many runs to the trash bin) inserts. AND if baby is too sensitive to the plastic, we can switch to cloth inserts.

ANNNNNND the cloth inserts have disposable flushable poop covers.

Sounds too good to be true.

Reviews, anyone?
