I'm not wanting sweets either which is REALLY weird for me! Especially with all the Halloween candy we have lying around in preparation for Halloween.

No strong aversions, just feeling sick all day and in the night when I wake up. No vomiting either. So weird.

In my first trimester, my biggest aversion was anything sweet! Even something slightly sweet tasted sickeningly sweet to me. It made me shiver.

@lazylightning - last night my husband wanted me to taste a piece of chicken he had marinated and grilled and I couldn't do it. But tonight I was planning to make a dish with chicken, apples and onions and that still sounds okay for some reason? Who knows!

I just keep trying to remember it won't last forever and it is for a good reason :)

Yes to "cravings" being any food that sounds like it won't make me sick! Right now for me that's nacho cheese dip, strawberry slushies, oatmeal creme pies, and a few other choice things... none of them the least bit healthy. :( But seriously everything else--from a plain chicken breast to a carrot stick to a handful of nuts--makes me feel like gagging when I even think about it. Not cool!

Anyone else having any food aversions yet? So far I cannot stomach the idea of eating a tomato or any raw veggies like carrot or celery sticks. I usually eat these all the time as snacks, but I can barely look at them now. I haven't been able to do seafood, either. I wish I understood why, I find it very interesting.

My only cravings are for foods that don't sound like they will make me sick. Just bland things like plain chicken, potatoes or popcorn and salty things like bacon and sausage. And lots of fresh fruits.

I feel sick all the time, but hungry, too so I just try to force myself to eat, even though I usually feel sick afterwards.

I try to remember it is only temporary and that it is all for a good reason if it means there is a healthy baby in there.

I cut chocolate and milk because of baby's acid reflux problem. He's a bit older now (3 months) and I could try eating at least chocolate, but I just can't bare to see him cry after eating...

Other obvious things I don't eat are coffee, tea, alcohol. Some moms told me I can pump and dump or if I wait for 2 hours before the next feed I should be fine... but I just do not dare to try. If I ate chocolate, my baby would cry and cry even after a day I last consumed chocolate.

@obxwife: I can't prove it by only trying it once, but it wasn't a fun day (nursing strike- eek!), I'm kind of scared to try it again. No problems with raw cabbage though, so it may have just been an off day.

I eliminated dairy and wheat from my diet to help with my LO's eczema. It makes this food lover very sad, and I'm hoping to eat without restrictions very soon (currently weaning). I also had gestational diabetes during my pregnancy. I miss food so much. It's been so long.

I'm off dairy and wheat (and I don't do soy anyway) for my daughter's eczema, I sure hope I can add wheat back in soon, it's rough being off both! My older daughter would get super annoyed if I ate to much kale (I love me some kale chips!). It didn't make her gassy or anything, she just hated the taste of kale milk .

I noticed early on that if I had two mugs of coffee in the morning, Maddox would spit up a lot later on. I did half-caf for a while and am back to a big mug of full caf now and it doesn't seem to bother him anymore.
