@raspberries: I would look to see if you can find someone in your area who does devacuts. Don't know if you are familiar with it but it's basically a technique for cutting curly/wavy hair that is tailored to your specific curl patterns.

I attached some before and afters from Google images.

I think you’re hair is beautiful. I would keep most of the length and add subtle layers. I’d invest my money in product to help it look a little more polished. But seriously it’s beautiful.

Maybe an angled LOB--longer around your face? I think that'd look good.

My hair is wavy, and I just got an asymmetrical angled bob. I've been getting lots of compliments on it. I also did an undercut to remove thickness, and it's really shortened my prep time!

Something like this maybe?

If you have the money, I'd do a keratin treatment to make it super silky and keep the length. Or maybe put in a few subtle layers.

My hair is similar, and when I cut it short it turns into a triangle. So I vote not to go short unless you know how it will react.

your natural hair is gorrrgeous !!

I'd do a messy-ish shoulder length with subtle layers only because I can't imagine your your waves could become bangs or a bob. but a lob is still a thing and that could be cute?

Go short!
I have similar hair to yours - maybe more wavy than curly. I chopped off 10" after DD was born. I went about as short as the pic. (Not my pic. I'm at work and can't upload my own)
I love it, it was easy and looked good whether I had time to style it or not.

Also, I just started using Argan oil on my hair - I don't have time to use the hairdryer in the morning, so I put a little on my comb and run it through my hair. It has help to cut down on air-dry frizzy-ness and static electricity. Ask your hairstylist what kind of products would be good for you!
(I have relatively fine, very dry hair.)

Good luck!

Anyone want to help me figure out how to cut my hair? Attaching a picture of what it looks like now - basically just long and wavy, a little on the thick side.

I haven't had a haircut in probably a year and a half - at least since before my second son was born in Feb 2017, and I feel so far out of the loop on what's fashionable that I might as well be under a rock. I have a haircut scheduled for Tuesday, but I have no idea what to ask for. I feel like I should be making the most of this instead of just asking for a trim. Side swept bangs? A bob? A lob (is that still a thing)? Pictures would be appreciated!

Well I didn't feel like waiting for shipping so I bought some at Target, kind of like these (but much cuter and way less garish):
https://gimmeboutique.com/collections/shop-kids/products/glitter-garden-clips-8pc

She was delighted to have me put them in her hair (after she saw me put some in my hair), and didn't cry when I took them out. Now the test will be whether they stay in at daycare all day. Hope so.

My LO has a ton of really fine hair down past her shoulder blades. She's 2. She hates stuff in her hair. The only thing that I have found to hold realllllly well are the tiny clear elastics. I've found it best to try to pull the hair out from the elastic vs trying to pull the elastic out of her hair. I pull a couple of big chunks out from just behind the band, and then I can work the band out easier.

@PawPrints: rubber bands didn't work for us either because they would tangle in his hair when trying to get them out

the lined alligator clips were the easiest to put in and take out without pain!
