@ladybee: OMG, fly aways. They seem to have gotten worse pp. Hair loss peaked around 3 months after DS was born, basically ended around 7 months.

Ugh it's so annoying. It's finally slowing down, at 8 months pp, but like you, it's so thin you can see scalp in parts.

I was just looking at my bump photos the other day and wondering how I didn't realize how lovely my hair was!

@Katrocap: I'm in the exact position you mentioned right now. I've got crazy thick hair so it's not super noticeable except for the fly always. However my hair is everywhere. How long till yours stopped falling out?

i was pulling out handfuls of hair and my bangs got so thin, my hairdresser had to cut me some more. it'll grow back! it takes something like 3 months after your hair falls out to start sprouting again. so it takes a little time, but you will see all the little hairs sprouting and have this really funny looking halo of tiny hairs for awhile.

YES!!! It was awful; I dreaded showering because of all of the hair I lost. My hair is already pretty thick, so I'm not sure how much actually grew back, but it definitely stopped falling out.

Anyone have really bad pp hair loss?

I've read and read about little whisks at the front hairline, and I do have those, but I also have crazy bad hair loss on the crown of my head. I used to be able to have a nice smooth pony tail and now it's all lumpy and parts funny because their isn't enough hair to pull back into the pony. If I leave a pony tail in for too long it will part and then you can see my scalp. It's not necessarily a bald spots but it is sooooo thin that you can see scalp.

It sucks. Please tell me my hair will grow back.

11 months Pp and its still falling out. Every time I say it's slowing down or it's stopped, it suddenly starts falling our full force again. I'm over it. But the hair I lost during my first trimester is trying to make a comeback at least.

I'm at 7 months pp with hair still falling out. I can't wait for it to stop. I need a haircut, but don't know if that will help or not. I have fine hair, so it feels like I have less of my hair, but longer.

I lost mine from maybe 3-7 months PP. 9 months sounds reasonable too, so I wouldn't worry. Now mine is growing back in again (12 months PP), and it looks way worse than when it was falling out. Ugh.

Not losing but I still have a receding hairline and I'm 11 months postpartum. Some areas have grown back and others are sparse! I hate it.

I had FUNKY hair growth at about 10 months PP. It was like the first row of hair touching my forehead. It stood up straight for so long, and it was too short to do anything with. Someone even commented on it once (in a joking manner, not nasty), and I just said "baby hormones" and they immediately shut up hahaha. At least, I'm assuming hormones hahaha.
Are you BF? I wouldn't worry, your body just went through a traumatic experience, it just takes time :)

I am only 4 months pp and just started losing mine. I thought I had avoided the wretched hair loss. Alas handfuls are coming out. Read on Pinterest something about castor oil rubbed on scalp helping with hair loss. Might try it since I am a total sucker.

So - I am still losing hair at 9mo pp. Has anyone else had this?

I had my levels checked and all was fine. I am taking a prenatal plus calcium.

Starting to get nervous!!!
