I also had terrible headaches end of 1st trimester, beginning of 2nd. Tylenol barely helped! Then (knock on wood) they went away at around 18 weeks. I figured it was a blood flow issue. I also tried to keep incredibly hydrated!

If it's a tension headache that happens when you wake up, there's a good chance it comes from clenching your jaw, or grinding your teeth, when sleeping. This could result from a different sleeping position, or just stress. Maybe try a mouth guard, and also gently massaging knots out of your shoulders/back with a tennis ball before going to bed? If you're tense to start with you are more likely to clench your jaw while asleep...

My pregnancy headaches were awful! I got them all the time in the first tri and definitely throughout. But first tri was the worst. I had to leave work several times and it was hard because none of them knew yet that I was pregnant. So it was hard to explain why I couldn't just take an Advil. I mean I'm pretty sure they were migraines because I couldn't concentrate and my vision got blurry. But it was still weird to them that they just started happening out of nowhere.
It does get better! I've heard drinking a coke helps or a small cup of coffee. I either never tried that or don't remember!
ETA: eventually I couldn't handle them anymore and my doc told me it was fine to take Tylenol. So I did. And it was amazing.

I even think I have more headaches now since having him (20 months ago). But maybe that's because I don't eat or drink anything 😂😳

I had the same - migraines at the beginning of the 2nd trimester. I drastically upped my water intake & took a full dose of Tylenol at the first sign. Mostly that helped. They went away after a few weeks.

For the past week or so I've been having some bad tension headaches. They're usually happening in the morning, right when I wake up, which makes me a bit nervous because if you look up "wake up with headache", lots of scary stuff comes up!

Did anyone else experience this? Did they eventually ease up? I'm 11.5 weeks so just at the end of the first tri... other symptoms seem to be disappearing, but now these headaches are popping up!

Hi, I am new to this site and this is my first post. I am a first time mom and have a happy 7 month old son.. Lately he has been screaming and I mean it is high pitch, blood curdling, hair stands on ends screams and he often smiles when screaming. He has a little walker that he uses and seems to do most of the screaming while walking around in it and once I or my husband looks at him, he smiles and then stops just to start up again once we look away. The screaming is horrible and I am not sure what to do about it if I should even do anything. He obviously won't understand that he is being loud or hurting our ears and it's not a fussy kind of scream at all... he seems happy when he screams and squeals. Is anyone else going through this or has anyone gone through this? I don't know what to do and I only have so much tylenol to take for the headaches. Any advice?? :bummed:

Mine were hormonal - I know all of my headache triggers, and I'd made sure to avoid them all. Before I got pregnant the first time, I was still having them from time to time even with careful attention to triggers. Then I got pregnant, and they just vanished. Until 17 weeks, and then I had them for a few weeks, and then they left again.

Also, check your protein intake and make sure you're getting 70g a day or more. I used to have daily headaches, and a lack of protein was the reason. Getting enough reduced them by about 80%. Also cutting down on salt and getting enough iron in my diet. Oh, and watch your electrolytes - in the summer when I exercise, I have to make sure to up my salt intake a bit with sports drinks. Otherwise I get a bad headache with nausea.
