@grizz: thanks, I will check it out.

I don't think I will bother to take the old fabric off, I will just put the new stuff on over it to minimise the amount of work involved :)

I agree with the ladies above on everything they've said. Great tips, and I honestly can't think of any better ones! My reupholstering has been limited but I have done a few pieces. A phone chair and a 50's storage bench.

I have! I like to use indoor/outdoor fabric because its sturdy, and I've also had good luck with Premier Fabrics. If you just take your time and label and/or photograph each piece so you know where it came from and where it goes, it makes the process much simpler!

Yep. I reupholstered two wing back chairs myself. My biggest tip is to write down and photo every piece you take off so you don't forget what order to put the new fabric back on. Also try not to rip the old fabric so you can use it to make a pattern for the new.

@pelikila: I like that a pattern a lot! Beautiful!

Could you do a simple white duvet? I feel like they have a clean crisp feel for guests, almost like staying in a nice hotel. We have this one from Target:
http://www.target.com/p/threshold-seersucker-duvet-cover-set/-/A-14146722#prodSlot=medium_1_3

Maybe you could add an ikat throw pillow or end-table lamps for a little pattern?

we have a burnt orange accent wall in our bedroom (the wall that the bed is up against) and we JUST got a new duvet cover for our room. :)

It is a paisley design with light blue, green, and burnt orange. I needed a pattern because we used to have a plain white duvet, and although I loved it, it got dirty SO fast.

We got the cover at TJ Maxx for a really great deal. :)

Alright bees, I need your decorating help. As some of you may have seen, DH built us a new bed for our master bedroom. This means the old bed is going in the guest bedroom, which previously only had a futon. The guest room has an orange accent wall behind the bed--what color/style bedding would you do? I'm pretty open!!!
