I wouldn't worry. It makes sense there would be different poops going on if your kid is having two kinds of milk. We stayed on Gerber to supplement the longest because it never changed his stools very much from the breastfed stuff but he did have like pine green poops on Allimentum and dark poops on Nutramigen when we did trials on those. It really depends on the formula I found.

Hello! DD is 3.5 months old and has always been an infrequent pooper. She goes every 4 days on average which her pediatrician has said is normal. And they're HUGE!

She is also hybrid fed due to low milk supply. She gets 10 ounces of formula per day. This morning she popped and there were two distinctly different kinds of poop in her diaper which is the first time that's ever happened! The yellow, liquid, seedy breastfed poop & a much thicker darker formula poop. Still mushy but very thick!

Anyway- has this happened to any of your babies? Seems weird to me that they weren't all one kind of poop but maybe this is common in hybrid fed babies? 💩💩💩

Wow! I just came back to this thread that is 11 months old. I can't believe I have been using CD's for over a year!

Just to update:

The 2 GroVia shells are holding up ok. The H&L is rolling over a bit even though they are line dried. The fit is still wonderful on my LO now that she is 15 months and 26lbs.

We also did try the BG4.0's Pockets. They are ok. I hate the inserts and some of my pockets have relaxed elastic in the legs even with line drying. It causes leaks some times. We also have 2 BG Elementals and they have held on great! I don't always like the fit of these and how the inner cotton bunches up.

We also have several Charlie Bananas (size M) that I got on sale from zulily. We really love how soft these are and the pocket opening in front. It is a microfiber insert but each diaper comes with two and they seem to be holding up better than the BG4.0 microfiber inserts.

Lastly, we did go back and try a Thristies Duo Diaper (their pocket diaper). I really like the fit of these and I LOVE the insert. The velcro on these does not hold up at all. Again, no trouble with leaks.

To try to save our pockets even though our inserts were shot, I bought a pack of 3 organic Flip prefolds. I love these. They hold SO much and never stink. The flip cover is nice too (wipes out unlike Grovia) if you want to do the prefold plus a cover route.

@Thehistoryofus: I just got the flip trainer. It looks cute. It pulled on well. It was still really wide so I had to make sure it pulled up to the inside of his legs. But once there he seemed happy in it. I liked the rise. So, so far so good. I want to buy some more. I think our faves are the Flip and the Grovias.

@Thehistoryofus: our guy is teeny (20 pounds) so finding small sizes has been a challenge. I was prepared for the grovias to be too big but actually liked the one we got. The fuzzibunz looks nice until you put it on and I don't know whose legs they fit on cause they didn't fit my little man. The blueberries are nice but not waterproof. We tried a best bottoms but I think they are a bit big still. So I'm pinning some hope on the flip as a hybrid option.

@Thehistoryofus: I ordered a flip trainer to try. We had to move from clOth diapers to sposie pullups because we are early potty training. I'm hoping that trainer doesn't disappoint, it looks nicer. But we don't do much diapers now cause he can't get them off. So our experience is definitely with baby sizing.

@brownie: I agree. The flips are wider and looser I guess than the Grovias. However fitting an organic cotton prefolds is a bit easier into a flip on my toddler.

@Mrs. Lantern: Compared to the Grovias, the Flips just felt cheap to us. They were really wide in comparison as well. I did like the inserts and sometimes we use the inserts in our Grovias. Although for the most part we use gCloth inserts because they are cheaper but work well

@Kcrzn89: I know--gDiapers newborns are the best diaper ever!

I love my gDiapers but don't love the learning curve. That said--they are GREAT with the "flushies."
I've tried the Flips and they are fine. I don't like how the elastic wears out (lower resale value and potential for leaking). I've never tried Grovia because they are expensive but I know you can't use their disposables inside the Flip or gDiapers because of the sticky back (it would mess up the PUL/plastic in Flip/gDiaper). You can use the Flip or gDiaper disposable in all 3.
(At least that's what my local cloth diaper store taught me in their cloth diaper 101 class.)
The Flip is flatter/smaller than the gDiaper, so that is convenient.

We want to get something really fuel efficient for our new car b/c one of us will be doing a long highway commute. Right now we're looking at the Prius, the new plug-in Prius, the Volt, and the new hybrid Honda Fit. I think we're going to be priced out on the Volt, and I'm guessing we'll either go for the hybrid Honda Fit or the plug-in Prius.

right now i'm driving my mother's hybrid rather than my pacifica =) it's a toyota highlander. normally i get gas each week (pacifica gets 14 mpg, no joke) and i've had the highlander for 2 1/2 weeks and finally had to put gas in it today! i couldn't find the thing to open the gas tank, lol. it's fun to drive, it doesn't feel sluggish at all and i had all 3 rows full today, but that leaves crap for space in the trunk, a maclaren quest almost didn't fit! i'd love one of the new prius v once i get rid of my pacifica (which i love, i just feel guilty for driving such an environmental nightmare)

I have a Prius C and I love it! However, if we were to be any taller (DH is 5'9", I'm 5'3") we would need a larger car. Our carseat is behind the passenger seat because the clips are behind the two side seats in the back and I didn't feel safe putting the seat in the center using a clip from each side, reaching (it actually says in the manual that the clips are on each side passenger seat and doesn't mention the center at all). The Prius V is much bigger.

@regberadaisy: You got it, the CT is like a euro wagon? Is that what they call it? We were thinking that with a car seat and our dog we needed the SUV.
Is the RX 450h more of a SUV size and the CT more of a hatchback size? I was hoping to find a hybrid SUV size.

I have a Lexus CT200h and RX450h. When we got the CT I looked at the Prius but my husband and I were really uncomfortable in the driver's seat and we're not tall people. As @beachmama pointed out, the Prius V may be bigger.

It's true that you're not exactly going to see a return on the premium for several years and what you're getting until then is the satisfaction of paying less per month for gas and knowing you're doing the environment a favor. For us it's worth it because we get gas maybe once every 6-8 weeks whereas I saw firsthand that the nonhybrid RX with my same driving habits would have been every 1-2 weeks. If you do a lot of stop and go driving and don't gun it, you might be able to save a lot of gas with the right hybrid.
