Either buy bags of frozen kale or spinach or freeze it yourself on a sheet and put into a bag once frozen. I throw in hemp hearts and cocoa powder (has that strong flavour that helps counteract the strong flavour of spinach-could help with your herbs) and sometimes peanut butter.

My smoothies are usually: almond milk, frozen berries, frozen banana (so it’s thick and sweet like a milkshake), oats and whatever added flavours or healthy thing like hemp hearts, spinach, kale, avocado that I feel like throwing in that day

The way Koreans take the herbal medicines like that is to heat the mixture, add sugar, and basically take it like a shot. It's like a much more herbaceous double espresso basically. Then chase with some water.

As for greens, they sell BAGS of frozen baby spinach. We like the frozen spinach at Trader Joe's. My intense Crossfitter friends just buy fresh kale in bags at Trader Joe's and make smoothie packs for the freezer with the Kale and all their ingredients and blend them with almond or coconut milk in the morning.

I add coconut oils to my kids smoothies for extra fat, frozen banana for thickening, and collagen protein (it doesn't taste like anything). My kids aren't into cuts of meat yet so I like to add that as insurance.

Instead of a block of already frozen spinach, get fresh spinach and freeze loosely in a bag. Makes it much easier to add. Or don't freeze at all and just add fresh, if you do it that way blend with some liquid before adding in frozen stuff.

You can get those herbs pressed into pills, they go down easier. If you can't get them that way, you might be able to take your mix to a compounding pharmacy. I had a tough time drinking the tea myself when I took them, so my practitioner suggested the pills.

As for smoothies, I use frozen cherries in mine, along with pineapple and banana. Instead of yogurt I use silken tofu and I also add in a spoonful of ground flax to aid in digestion.

Every day I have a smoothie to be able to drink down my {disgusting tasting} Chinese herbs into something a bit more tolerable! :silly: Plus it is a way for me to add in more berries to my daily diet since both my acupuncturist and my RE suggested that to increase fertility! :goodluck: And, you know, it's just healthy to do ha.

I dissolve into hot water my Chinese herbs, Raspberry powder, Superfood powder mix of Acai, Goji, & Pomegrante, more of just Goji Powder, and my liquid multivitamin from Pink Stork. For the smoothie part I use whatever frozen fruit we have on hand- mostly blueberries, strawberries, & pineapple if it's around ovulation- a big tablespoon of Chia seeds, and some organic banana & a dollop of full-fat organic yogurt to help thicken it all up. I will occasionally add in a little bit of local honey as well.

So I am wondering if anyone has any favorite smoothie additions that you have found along the way?? I would love to know if there are any other must-have supplements or additions I'm missing out on. I would love to add some more greens in especially, but haven't been able to get some in consistently- I tried already frozen spinach and it was just too hard to break some off the block each time- so any tips on that would be awesome.

I'm actually drinking my smoothie right now ha, which is what made me think of asking for some outside insight & tips for you all! It doesn't have the greatest taste or texture in the world but it's still better than Chinese herbs on their own, let me tell ya! :meh: Yuck!

Thank you in advance
