I would have been totally okay doing that 3 weeks pp. I felt great by then, and we had been out and about quite a bit.

I have plans to attend my grandma's 80th birthday celebration less than 2 weeks after my due date. I have been open that everything is flexible (i.e. if I have a good sleeper the LO will come with and just chill in the carrier or if not the LO will stay home with in laws) - either way I committed to the 2 hour dinner only knowing that if we can swing any of the extra festivities its great but if not its ok too...

I went to a bridal shower 2w pp (3 hrs away) and the wedding at 5w pp and was fine. I'd say RSVP yes but let them know that it will depend upon how you are feeling, if your LO is late it may be too soon to really feel up to it but then if you are you'll be glad they are expecting you.

Since it's nearby, it should be ok. My LO was really sleepy at first, so it was easy to take him along wherever I went!

I would have been able to go, but it would have been a mental struggle. We had a crabby baby and that first month was something of a nightmare. We did drive almost two hours to my Dad's for Christmas at four weeks, and although that was crazy and there were some tears involved, I survived.

This is a tough call . . . for me, I would say no. But that comes from knowing that at 3 weeks, LO was still taking a long time to BF (sometimes 45 minutes), and needing to feed her every 2.5-3 hours (timed from the start of the last feed) made doing anything tough. And we were still working out the BF kinks at 3 weeks, so I needed pillows and stuff to be able to do it well and make sure LO had a good latch. But if you feel up to it, go for it!

We went to a wedding at ~8 weeks pp and was fine. I had to leave LO at my parents and pump several times in the car while I was there (it was about 2 hours away). I'm not sure I would have felt comfortable leaving LO at 3 weeks, however with the wedding you described I would be completely fine with going and would have felt up to it. I think it is great the bride asked you to bring LO along!

I had a c section and at 3 weeks I was going stir crazy. It might be great for you to get out of the house and have to look presentable. I bet it will make you feel great. Maybe have a close friend or your mom go with you to help with the baby?

If they're close friends, I don't see why a tentative yes wouldn't be ok. Especially since it's such a small thing anyways. I'm sure they'll understand. I definitely would.

I had a wedding about that same time after delivery as well. We RSVP'ed yes but told them that there's no way of knowing how I would be feeling or how labor will go. So we plan on coming but if we can't we'll let them know ASAP.

I went and did fine although we missed baby TERRIBLY!

I was okay with being out and about that early, but I got some flack for it. If it's a cake and punch reception, not formally catered per person, I'd RSVP with an "I want to, but we'll see." This is one of the few occassions that a maybe is an appropriate answer. :)

DH and I are invited to a wedding being held 3 weeks after my due date. They are dear friends of ours, and have asked DH to be in the wedding. I know we won't need to RSVP until closer to the date, but in your experience is there any chance I could go? It will be a small afternoon wedding with a cake and punch reception. The couple said they would love it if baby and I could come...I'd sit in the back and have baby Grizz in a Moby. If LO is late or if I have a c-section, obviously that throws things off and I won't make it. I'm also worried about wrangling him myself for the first time since DH won't be there to help me. I am guessing it will be a game time decision, but I was just curious :)
