I was on the generic version of Seasonique. I went off BC in July and had really wonky 8-10 week cycles. In December I had one 5 week cycle but wasn't ovulating. I finally ovulated for the first time in the beginning of February and got pregnant on that first try. I just think it took that long for my body to start regulating after being on BC for so long and one that made my cycles be 3 months long vs 1 month long. I'd recommend using ovulation tests every day since your cycle will be unpredictable most likely.

When I went off BC, my first cycle was a 58 day cycle. I had a few more long ones (around 40 days), a whopping 84 day cycle, then I normalized. I was always very regular prior to BC though. Back to regular now too, but it took a good year to get to that point.

I was on Depo when I was 21 and was on it for 5 years, I think. Depo is a 3 month BC shot.

After Depo, I was on the nuvaring for a while. When we started TTC, I was off any kind of BC for about a year.

I would ask your dr at what point should you be concerned that you haven't had a period.

As for TTC, I would start to worry if you haven't been able to get pregnant after 8 ish months. It's totally normal to take 3-6 months to get pregnant.

Lots of luck to you. My experience with infertility took me 3 years of TTC to get pregnant but I know that my journey was not normal. I Wouldn't stress yet. Sorry, my journey wasn't exactly positive but if you are still TTC after a year or so, we have a great group of women here to support you.

@kiddosc: Yes, that's my main concern and reason for seeing the doctor this week. I was on BC for 10 years (Yaz before Seasonique) so it's hard to remember how irregular they were...I know they weren't perfect 28 day cycles, but I wasn't going months in between periods or anything

I was on yaz and didn't ever have a period on it, my doctor said that can happen to some people. It took my body a few months to regulate after stopping. If I were you though, I'd be much more concerned that you didn't have regular periods before going on birth control. You may want to talk to your doctor about that so you can be aware of what to watch out for and what signs your body could be giving you that there's a bigger issue.

Thanks for your response! I guess I'm just worried because my body has been used to having periods every 3 months for the last 7 years...I never thought I'd actually WANT to get my period every month :silly:

My first cycle off birth control was over 60 days. my doctor said it's very common to skip a period. I do have PCOS so I had long cycles but once I figured them out it was normal for me.

Hi all,

I'm new here, but have been reading the boards for a few months

My husband and I recently decided to NTNP. I had been on Seasonique for the past 7-8 years and stopped in the beginning of May. Since then, I have only had one period and it started June 19, 39 days after stopping BC. I am currently on CD 46 with no sign my period is on its way.

I know I'm not pregnant. We had been using condoms until this weekend and I have two negative pregnancy tests. Does anyone have any experience with how long it took to regulate after stopping Seasonique (or something similar) and/or how long it took to get pregnant? I'm nervous because I never had regular periods before going on BC. I have a doctors appointment this week, just looking for some (hopefully) positive stories in the meantime

Thanks in advance, and sorry for the novel!
