My NP has run blood work and she said I was most likely in perimenopause although she did blood work in September before taking out the Mirena and she said I was definitely not menopausal yet. As to symptoms, I've gained quite a bit of weight and can't lose it (although that could have been the mirena) and I feel like my body temp has changed. I used to be a lot colder than I am now. None of that makes for a definitive diagnosis, I just feel like I'm moving toward menopause. I’ve had I’ve heard many women take several months for periods to return post-Mirena. Just feels like I’m having the opposite issue - shorter cycles, longer periods! Turns out the IUD was slightly embedded in my uterus though the GYN was able to remove it w/o surgery. Since then, my periods have been irregular, closer together (as few as 21 days apart), and longer (up to 7-8 days). I’ve had smears, endometrial biopsies, ultrasounds, and more - all negative. The GYN thinks it’s hormonal and I can either live with it or go on the pill. Has anyone had a similar issue post-Mirena? Did your periods even out eventually? I'm not going to lie the cramps might lay me out today...</p> <p>No, not TCC the Mirena was causing me some issues and my doc wanted to remove me from all hormones to see if it would help me. It's funny I was all for a 3rd baby until I got my Mirena out and now I'm like "NOPE I'm DONE!" haha so we will have to figure out our long term plan. It took us 6 cycles to get pregnant. It was definitely longer than the first time. I went to a naturopath and took vitex and a few other herbs for a few months. Did acupuncture the cycle before and the cycle I got pregnant. I checked my chart and I had some spotting 2.5 weeks later but no real period until 6 weeks. I had it removed end of March so I've had 4 cycles since then. </p> <p>It's taking me longer to get pregnant this time, but hopefully it's not a result of the IUD... Who knows, though. I'm going to a naturopath tomorrow to discuss hormone balancing and perhaps acupuncture to things regulated, but was wondering if anyone else had either herbs, acupuncture or anything else to help get your body back to normal? My husband could feel the strings, although they eventually softened up. Sex HURT with it...possibly it was post-baby stuff, but I had it removed and sex stopped hurting.
