I've gotten my best jobs through networking. Sometimes it takes a while--I was unemployed for almost a year until I got my current job, which I love--but it can mean you're available for something really special!

I actually prefer to go directly to company websites. Often they have a career section and don't post ads.
My first job out of college was in classifieds. Next two were both by contacting companies directly.

@chopsuey119: Thanks!!! I can also send you my resume too! DH is an accountant here already, and is secretly hoping I just find a job here and we don't have to move. Buttt when he's not applying to jobs in DC it kind of gives it away!

@hunni: Okay will ask around! Both will want you to have taken the GA bar though. Will see if they have non-atty positions available!

@chopsuey119: Sure!!!! But, I haven't signed up for GA bar (still may apply to sit for Feb), I'm going to take Va or Dc. I know you can waive in Dc but a lot of those jobs require Dc bar and I didn't want to maintain two bar memberships ($$), and didn't really want to practice in VA at all.

I talk to former co-workers and employers and let them know I'm looking. I'll also look at Craigslist. I hate Monster.com!!

I used to check indeed.com or go to a staffing agency.
Are you looking for a job in GA? I used to work at O'Kelley and Sorohan. Also worked at Clark & Washington.
Can see if either are hiring if you're interested!

I've only had 2 real jobs. And I got them because of who I know. The first was through my parent's friend, and the second was through a good family friend. It's so hard to find a job now.... I'm not looking forward to that process again. Good luck!

Currently looking for a job as a new attorney, non-profit, non-legal, admin, um anything lol. I'm using all the ways career services advises such as networking (but I don't really know a lot of attys), legal websites with postings, & blind resumes.

Back in undergrad, I used to be able to find a job off of craigslist in no time! Those were the days! What are some of your go to methods during job hunting?
