@SweetCaroline: The lady behind me in line helped me unload my cart last week when LO (17 mos) was getting impatient. It was so nice! And on another shopping trip a lady let me go ahead of her because I had my toddler with me and she had a bigger order that was going to take a while. Little things like that really do mean a lot!

When I was on maternity leave with DD, I would take her grocery shopping in the Ergo. Twice, I had a cart full of groceries, and strangers behind me in line asked me if they could unload my cart for me. One of those times, they guy in front of me forgot to process his bottle refunds receipts when he bought his groceries. Instead of starting another transaction, he told the cashier to apply them to my groceries. People are so amazing.

@Mrs.KMM: TWICE this past week some stranger has given my daughter money for being honest or polite.

First time, we were getting on the bus as the guy was getting off of it. He spilled some change and my dd picked up a toonie he dropped and reached out to return it to him. He insisited hse keep it since she was so honest.

Second time, I always have her wave and say thank you to the drivers of cars when they stop to let us pass. On Friday as she was yelling thank you to the car, a woman passing laughed and said you're welcome. I thought that was funny, but we kept walking. She actually turned around and chased us down to give my dd two loonies as a reward for bing so polite!

Tonight, an employee at a restaurant gave us H's dessert for free. What he didn't know was that we had just come from the restaurant next door where another patron yelled at H because she was being too loud and apparently she did not think we were doing enough to quiet her.

This is old, but DH and I were out to eat during our time of struggling to TTC we were talking about our failed IUI and what next?! We were eating at the bar and there was an older gentleman eating next to DH, he over heard us talking and before he left paid our bill told us God was in control and not to worry and all he asked for in return was for us to pray for his granddaughter who had a brain tumor :(
Touched my heart! Sweet man!!!!!

I paid it forward by giving my gift card I was going to use to another stranger. Hoping that some others have had some random acts of kindness come their way recently too!

This is pretty small compared to some others, but today I was grocery shopping and was struggling to reach for something far back on a top shelf. (I'm short!) A few people walked by and didn't make eye contact, and finally an older (taller woman) stopped and asked how many of the item I needed and grabbed them for me. I had been about to give up because I didn't feel like taking the time to track down an employee to help me, so I really appreciated it.

One day recently LO had a crappy day, topped off by pinching her fingers in her sunglasses right before I picked her up so poor thing was a sobbing mess when I got to school. I told her we would stop for a "bad day treat" and there's a dunkin donuts on the way home, so we ran in to get a donut. The kid at the counter asked how we were and I explained that LO had had a bad day, and she sat on my hip sniffling while making her donut choice lol and when he handed it to her he said we were all set and didn't have to pay, that he hoped this donut made her day better ❤️❤️

DH and I were at a local restaurant with the kids (I was still pregnant with A) and this seemingly drunk man kept walking around the restaurant looking at all the tables. When we were done, DH took DS to the bathroom and he came to the table. I was honestly pretty creeped out. The waitress came to the table and asked if everything was okay and I said yes. She then told me that he paid for our meal. I felt like a terrible person for being creeped out by him, but I still think he was drunk :silly:

A couple Christmas seasons ago, D and I were having dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. I was pregnant with M at the time and DH was at a company holiday party. The couple next to us had a cute toddler that we'd smile and wave to, when waved at. They left before us, but when I asked for our bill, the server informed us that they had paid our bill! It was so nice!

Its not much but this weekend I was out with my dad and DD, my dad was pushing DD in her stroller as we approach a woman sitting on some steps having a cigarette. As we approached she stood up and held the cigarette way up in the air to keep it away from DD - I thought it was so nice. I made sure to make eye contact and say thank you...

I have had coffee purchase for me in the Starbucks drive through and always pay it forward. We also had our toll paid once on the way to chicago - so we paid it forward and paid ours for the next car (who happened to be my sister - caravan) who thought her mom was just being nice and buying her toll so she ended the pay it forward trail...#fail

A couple of weeks ago my cat had a UTI that turned into a urinary blockage. I spent several days/nights in and out of the regular vet and emergency vet bc my darn cat kept somehow pulling his catheter out. One night I walked into the emergency vet (3rd time that week) crying holding a bag of pee and a chewed up catheter line and the vet tech felt so bad for me they repaired it for free. It was honestly the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me. I was already out a few grand by that point, and had zero sleep bc I had to watch him all night so all I could do is just sit there crying out of gratefulness. I will never forget that.

This is "old" but it still warms my heart. It was Christmas time and there were a group of bikers at the local breakfast place. Our family was there as well including the newborn. The bikers were on a Santa Toy Run and they brought our family breakfast since we were the only ones in the place with kids. It was so generous. Every time we return to that restaurant my DH picks someone to pay for their breakfast. He usually picks the older person eating alone.

It was my first solo outing with both kids and my newborn was screaming his little head off and my toddler was refusing to nap. I rushed into a coffee shop, bought DD a cupcake as a bribe, started nursing DS while still in the line and must have looked seriously harassed as the server gave me a free brownie then brought DD a milk and me an iced water when we were sat down, she was amazing. It really, really brightened my mood.

This happened a few weeks ago and it still makes me smile. I was taking the T (subway) one day, but the elevator at my stop was being repaired. I had the 2 year old and our big heavy UB vista, so I had just stopped to think about what to do when not one, but two young men stopped to offer to help. One of them ended up helping me carry the heavy stroller with toddler down the stairs, and waited to make sure the next elevator was working, before leaving- he wasn't even taking the train, he just saw I needed help and stopped what he was doing to help. It was just so nice!

I stopped at the gas station on the way home from the OB's office today to pick up a fountain pop. My 10-week old DD was with me asleep in her car seat. While I was filling up my drink, a nice lady was commenting on how cute DD was and asking me about her. We chatted a little bit and when we got up to the register, she said she wanted to buy me my pop. I know it's only ~$1 but that random act of kindness made my day!

Yes! I work at a big university, and students usually walk around in their own little worlds. But once the belly got REALLY big, I was surprised and thrilled to find that most of them (male and female) went out of their ways to help out. On the other hand, when I flew in my third trimester, no one was kind at all, even when I was visibly struggling with luggage. I guess the kids are alright!
