@NorCalWayfarer: Regular yeast too or just brewer's yeast? I've been doing it all wrong!

@keiki_mama: As a PP mentioned, I would bake the cookies and then put them in the freezer. The dough would still be good but baking a little at a time sounds like a lot of work. When I had a newborn and toddler at home (don't know how old yours is!) I did not have time to bake cookies - I had a huge bag of lactation cookies that was hidden in a drawer (hidden from my toddler!) and would snack on 1-2 a few times a day.

I don't know about freezing the dough but I wanted to thank you for the cookie recipe! I'm due at the end of the month as well and will make a few batches to freeze. =)

Like @septca said -- you should keep flax seed meal in the fridge/freezer anyways. I also keep yeast in the fridge.

@keiki_mama: it goes rancid really fast, so you should always store it cold.

I froze it. I then ended up just eating the dough. Mmm.

I did it. I baked some and froze them and also portioned out a bunch of raw dough that I could bake as needed. I am due in a few days so I can't say if if worked for sure, but since I store lots of baking ingredients in the freezer to preserve their freshness, I can't see how it could hurt.

Yep. No problem.

You should actually keep your flax seed in the freezer anyway.

My sister froze the dough, and then would bake a few cookies at a time, rather than the whole batch. Or she'd just eat the dough raw (she made one without eggs). It still worked for her. Any day she would eat a few cookies, her milk supply went up at least 50% (usually more, if I remember correctly) shortly thereafter.

Hi Bees! I'm due at the end of the month and I'm thinking about making a couple of batches of lactation cookie dough to throw in the freezer so I can pop it in the oven after the baby arrives. I'm just wondering if freezing flax seed or brewer's yeast will destroy their properties? This is the recipe I used last time and it seemed to work!

http://www.food.com/recipe/oatmeal-chocolate-chip-lactation-cookies-by-noel-trujillo-192346

What do you say? Freeze the cookie dough or no?

EDIT: I didn't freeze this particular dough recipe when DS still nursed.
