@lawbee11: Ditto.

@kpc324: I haven't been able to attend a gym class since LO was born BUT since our gym daycare is open 8:30am-12:30 and 4:30pm-8:30, I go immediately after her nap (so shes happy and fed)....if you like the class structure, maybe bring an iPad (if you have one?), find a video you like on YouTube and do your workout in the empty classroom? I've been doing 30 day shred like that so I don't have to waste nap time working out!

I'm gonna have to cut it short if LO is sleeping when its time to go pick up DS from school. Its an every day thing though so I think it'll be easy to make a routine.

I totally know what you mean. My LO is 11 weeks & she is on a schedule. That way I can plan things around her naps & put her in the car right when it's naptime, and the movement puts her to sleep. To keep her on her schedule I do have to wake her up on occasion but usually our issue is her waking up too early.

I only cut it short if it's for something like a doctors appointment. We have missed many classes/story times but I refuse to wake her up for those...her sleep is more important and it took forever to get her to nap longer than 40 minutes so I am not messing with it!

i avoided waking him up at all costs because it was so hard to get him to fall asleep in the first place, and he was not the type to fall asleep in a stoller/care/carrier, etc. it was rough. i didn't do much during maternity leave.

I woke up LO when she was that young, but she always fell back asleep as soon as the car started moving & slept great in a car seat when we arrived. I did get her on a schedule pretty early due to daycare.

My 3 month old lives with a 2.75 year old so he gets unceremoniously woken up all the time. I barely think about him when scheduling stuff. I try to feed him right before I need to leave, so if he's sleeping I'll wake him up to eat and then put him in the carseat and he'll just go back to sleep in the car if he's tired. With my older son, we just did stuff and he'd nap en route or in the stroller or whatever, whenever he was tired until he was probably a year old. Before that point, we never based our plans around his schedule. We were maybe a little flexible through about 18 months when he still slept well in strollers and carseats, but after that point we stopped scheduling anything from about noon till 4 PM.

This is why I haven't gone to the gym! I don't feel like it's a necessity to mess with a baby's schedule for working out. But I've had to mess with her naps a lot anyway because I also have a 3.5 year old that goes to school. That's a necessity, though.

I only cut short for very important things, so basically I never went to the gym or did outings that weren't super important to me. I don't really believe you can schedule babies until they are down to two naps...so closer to 6 months.

I had to wake the baby a lot to drop off and pick up my toddler at daycare and meet friends during my maternity leave.

I still cut naps short if we have plans because I like being on time and she sleeps well in the car.

S is 3.5mths and I know exactly where you are coming from! Apart from doctors appts, I avoid things where a set time is necessary. If I want to make plans to go to a friends or my parents, I say I'll arrive between 1-2pm or similar time with an hour window so I don't have to cut a nap too short.

Seriously, how?? I just cancelled on my gym childcare and Zumba class because LO is still sleeping. I don't have her on a schedule, she does EASY and I let her naps go for as long as she wants, usually anywhere between 45 minutes to 2.5 hours. By the time she went down for her morning nap, she would have only slept for 30 minutes before I would have had to wake her up to nurse her and get out the door to be on time.
If it were something important, like a dr. appt,, I would have woken her....I don't feel too bad about the gym, it's freezing outside so staying home isn't such a bad thing for us today.

Do you cut your infants naps short to get places? If we are going someplace where I can nurse her, I'll wake her up and nurse her when we get there, but I can't really nurse her while doing Zumba! If she were more scheduled, I know I could plan things around her naps, but her naps are still pretty varied right now.
