But DS was 6.5 pounds when he was born 8 weeks early and S was 10 pounds and died during labor (hence my fear of labor). I have no reason to believe that this baby won't be big also. Have they already determined the baby is large? At 37 weeks I had an ultrasound that said DS was over 9 pounds. At that point, I had orders for a c section in case I went into labor early. My mom delivered three nine pounders without meds and is smaller than me so I figured I could do it too. Even though DD's predicted birth weight was 9.5-10.5 my OB wasn't super concerned. I didn't gain much weight and had an easy pregnancy, I still wonder why they didn't offer an induction earlier. The earliest they would schedule was the 13th and I scheduled it for the 14th so one of my fav doctors could do it.</p> <p>I knew he wouldn't fit vaginally.
