@LindsayInNY: thanks for posting! I definitely agree that with all supplements you should be mindful of anything odd and talk to a doctor or do your research. I just got the B complex and I take it with my prenatal but I just started. Ill let you guys know how it works for me.

To be a bit of a devils advocate... The cycle I took B6, I started a couple days after a +OPK. I ended up having delayed O that cycle which I think was due to the B6. I also had weird side effects like a constant tingling in my forehead (supposedly happens if you have too much artificial B vitamin in your system that your body can't process). I never took the B6 again. And I've never had any problems with delayed O during every other cycle. I'm hesitant to recommend this to anyone as a LP solution. When I mentioned my LP length to my doctor at my annual (10-11 days, max), she wasn't even concerned about the length.

My LP was around 9 days if I remember correctly. I got pregnant with #1 after 17 mos of trying, I think the LP was eventually extended with the B vitamins. He is almost 2 now so its hard to remember exactly.

So I just picked up the b6 b12 and folic acid combined pill. 75 mg b6, 150mg of b12 and 800 mcg of folic acid. I currently take a multi vitamin and an extra folic acid. I will just take this and the multi. I will see if it helps. I have alway wondered about my cycle. I have been on the pill since I was 15 to lengthen and regulate it. Been off it since August and it is regular but average 26 days with spotting starting day 22. I have my annual at th beginning of jan and this is one of my questions. I am 31 so I really hope I don't have to try for a year before my doc does anything. We are on month 3 of trying. Starting ovulation tests this moth so that I can educate myself.
I love the bee!

I had a LP of 8-10 days, 9 on average.
I had been TTC for nearly a year when I began taking a B-complex that also had folic acid (double win for TTC!) and got pregnant the first month, so I can't say whether or not it helped lengthen my LP, but I think it did. I was charting, and while my LP was short, I still had 29-32 day cycles. The month I got pregnant (healthy term baby is now 4.5 months old) I ovulated on day 16, which means that had I gone even to 29 days, my LP would have been 13 days!

Good luck to you!

@MrsScottish: I took a B50 complex for two cycles so 50 mg of all B vitamins. I had read that B6 should be taken in conjunction with other B vitamins. On the third cycle I upped it to 100 mg because I was still spotting for a few days before AF. After my BFP that cycle, I weaned myself off slowly and stopped taking it altogether at 14w.

@Vegmama: that gives me hope. Before nursing and having a baby I was a 12 day girl so I think that's also why I am concerned. This is the first month I will be consistently tempin though so I think that will tell me more as well.

@dc yoga bee: I hope you get your BFP soon doll!

@Ash: yes I just started that and I hope it helps. I am also reading the book Fertility, Cycles and nutrition in an effort to eat better and help that way. I really recommend it.

@MrsScottish: in addition to your prenatal yes. Just try not to overdo it either. Supplements can be tricky. I will let you know if it helps me.

@abbylyn: yay!!! Mine is kind of 9-10 now and definitely not 11. I start spotting at the beginning f my period and spot at the end too which is not supposed to be great. We are night weaning next month which may also help.

@Tidybee: yeah I am very open to clomid but obviously I will have to wean first and that alone might clear up the issue since I know nursing can affect the LP which high prolactin.

Mine was a little complicated. I would start spotting at day 7-9dpo and then get a full period around 13/14dpo so i was right on track. My doctor checked my progesterone level once we started having trouble getting pregnant and it was on the low side of normal but she couldn't call it low. That being said, she did prescribe prog supplements and i took them for 6 months without getting pregnant. It was only when I took Clomid (and not progesterone) did I get pregnant on the second cycle of Clomid.

How much B6 did you take? my multi vitamin has 6 mg, do I need something on top of that? I have a 26 day cycle and start spotting on day 22. I am using an ovulation kit for the first cycle to see when I ovulate.

After coming off the pill, my LP was 8 days with O occurring anywhere from day 16-19. I got pregnant easily but had a mc. I was spotting from day 7 on. After my mc I started taking a Vitamin B complex as I had read B6 is good for increasing LP. My LP went to 9 days, then 10 days and the third month I conceived and carried a healthy baby girl. I kept taking the vit B until about 14w. So I was successful with a short LP but I attribute it to the vitamins.

Anyone on here have a luteal phase of 10 days or less and conceive and carry to term a healthy pregnancy? My LP has been 9-10 days with late ovulation since I started menstruating post partum (13 months ago) and I am wondering if I should go in and have my progesterone checked before TTC.
