Thanks for the input! I'm leaning towards the paperback version now.

I have this book on my (regular) Kindle, and it's fine. Granted I don't have anything to compare it to but I didn't feel like I was missing out on information. You can easily flip to the TOC or do a search.

I agree with PPs. I love the Mayo book, but I definitely use it as a reference and do a lot of looking in the index, flipping to different sections, etc.

@Foodnerd81: I was wondering the same thing about the Fire. I have the regular Kindle and I love it, but it's no good for pictures or anything high-tech. Maybe the Fire is better. But I think I'm still a traditionalist when it comes to reference books!

I thought about that but I really like to flip through informational books. I ended up buying the book and kept it by my bed where I would read it almost nightly. I think I would suggest buying the physical copy of it.

@pointybird: I'm the same way. I love kindle for novels but can't use it for a reference. But I bet the fire is better for that than te old school one I have.

My problem with e-books is that it's so hard to flip quickly through them to find what you are looking for! I use the Sears book and I find myself flipping back and forth between the index and the body of the book when I'm trying to figure something out, and I don't think that's as easy to do in an e-book. But maybe I'm old school? I bet it's useful to just use the search function. The images will be smaller for sure though.

I was thinking about buying the Mayo Clinic book on my Kindle Fire, instead of the paperback version. Have any of you bought this version? And if so, do the charts/illustrations show up okay? Thanks!
