This is the point at which we tossed a few soft stuffed animals into the crib. Each boy has slept with about 3-4 different ones plus a small soft plushy blanket and a toddler pillow since they could pull up. The idea is that if they fall over, it might be a little bit of a bumper. Between that and the mesh bumpers, there was enough stuff around the crib where I didn't think it would do much damage. I left my kids alone. They would cry and tip over at some point and fall back asleep. It only lasted a few days.

I agree with @SweetiePie: and just let it pass. The fascination will eventually wane. If you haven't lowered your crib yet, you'll definitely want to do that.

@cake2017: well, he’s getting to the Bumps and bruises stage since he’s crawling and pulling up and soon cruising. So, it’s going to happen. He’s not going to get majorly hurt from bumping his head on the crib, so I just let it go. That’s how they learn!
But if you aren’t comfortable with that, I wouldn’t go in and just lay him down. I would go in and not talk or really acknowledge (so he knows it’s not playtime) and I would help him get down. Like move his arms and legs to show him how to get back down. If that makes sense.

But he will learn and figure it out, this is temporary. And normal and good! Because he’s learning a new skill.

@cake2017: normal/they all do it with new skills. nothing you can really do. It’ll last a week or so then he’ll be over it and sleep will go back to normal. Just try to keep things consistent and don’t create new sleep crutches.

LO just discovered he can stand. He’s crawling too. Now he’s standing in the crib and doesn’t know how to get down. Rough night of screaming and crying. Any advice.....?

He sleeps well now just this.

He is still in feeding therapy but no longer needs to be followed by the intensive feeding team. I am so excited to never see the bully Doctor we were seeing.

In our case... we just sucked it up for a couple weeks. It was brutal. The worst part was that our LO actually rolled tummy to back first. But then when she learned to roll back to tummy it was like she completely forgot that she knew how to get herself back over.

So we have a 6 month old boy who has been rolling from back to front for a few weeks now. He does not roll from tummy to back. When he is on his tummy, he is usually okay for 10-15 min before he starts whimpering for help.

I've been putting a wedge in his crib to prevent him from rolling that way and then getting stuck. This mama wakes up twice a night as it is to nurse so I don't need constant waking from getting stuck. I also have a toddler sleeping in the next room that I def don't want to wake up!

Last night I removed the wedge to see if he would fall asleep on his tummy. He rolled over to his tummy but once there, started crying for help.

My plan is to keep the wedge in there until he starts to roll from tummy to back during the day...

any other advice/tips/tricks? What did you do when this happened to your LO?

@irene: We decided to change insurance providers this year, so we finally got ourselves situated and are starting therapy tomorrow with my first choice provider, who didn't have availablity last year. She's an oral motor therapist, so she can help both with speech and eating, which is huge for us.

I am really pleased about the whole thing, I only wish I would have been able to start sooner, but we're here now, and will go forward.

Let me know if you have any questions, I am sure I will be able to be more specific after the first few sessions!
