@Navy_Mommy: LOVE the annoucement!!
It is crazy how that happens right after a deployment and so soon. Has not happened to us, but have seen this happen with many of our friends. Dont think I will be ready for another when DH gets back. He is IA right now so that will be another 407 days until he is home. Not that I am counting. LOL Already been gone over 3 mos. DD is 4 mos now.

@zippylef: LOL My DH too. Too funny. What is it with the beards. Always want what you cant have. : )
Ugh 7 more years.

Hi,

How many military or military family bees do we have? I am a (US)marine corps wife, and may join the military myself (next year!).

DH is infantry and has deployed 4 times, but he is getting out in January so no more deployments for us--and none since LO arrived. I am very lucky, I know.

@Navy_Mommy: Thanks so much for the feedback!
I don't have an OB, and tried to switch to one and they said no! They switched me from one nurse practitioner to another, so my next option is see my primary care manager (1.5 weeks till that appointment) to get a referral out--OR if that doesn't work, switch to TriCare Standard and go the civilian doctor/civilian hospital route.
My hubby's stationed at Quantico and the nearest hospital is Fort Belvoir. With traffic, that is well over an hour. Also--it means if I go after work the two of us would have to drive separately. Not good.

AND How cool that your hospital is so close to you! I think if I had your experience, I would stick with it. But my experience blows so far (they waited several weeks to tell me that I'm a carrier for a genetic disease that hubby might carry. It's fatal by age 3-5, but by the time we get hubby's results it'll be way too late to do anything but carry to term and pray.)

AND I've missed you on the boards. I was ellabee.

@StbHisMrs: OMG What a horror story! I am afraid of something like that happening. Yet another reason to switch to Standard I guess!

@zippylef: Is that the standard? I got appointments at 7 weeks, 11 weeks, 17 weeks, 24 weeks, and then we'll see from there. Only that first one was close as you say. But, you know what? I don't really want to go anyway.
I really like your birth plan. I haven't been able to get in a word edgewise, so I'm hoping when I switch NPs and then maybe switch to Standard--I can actually *talk* to someone.

Thanks ladies for all your input. I really appreciate it!
