I'm so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine the happiness and surprise you felt with this pregnancy coming after an IVF pregnancy. :crying: I'm so glad you are feeling hopeful for the future, though. I had to go through IVF and getting pregnant on my own isn't something I've yet experienced at any stage. I'm wishing you all the comfort and good thoughts you can have at this time.

Hey guys - just wanted to update. Sad news. I did in fact miscarry. I'm coping ok mentally. The actual natural process is pretty uncomfortable. Hoping the cramping won't last more than a day or two since I have a one year old to chase around. Thank you for your kind words and thoughts. Though I'm sad, I'm feeling hopeful about the future.

Thanks to you both! I will update after Wednesday. Realistically, because there's a three week discrepancy, I think it is best for me to prepare for bad news. But I am doing better with that now. Before my son I thought I may never be a mom, and after I had him, I told myself I would make peace with having one. I would of course prefer to have two, but having him nearby these last few sad days has lifted my spirits at least. Xoxo

@mopeybuthopey: hi! @winnibee: is right about me and my current pregnancy. At 7 weeks they only found a sac and I measured 6+4. I was positive of my dates. I thought it was all over and cried for two weeks straight. I went in at 9w and babe was there measuring on track. The same Doctor did both of the scans transvaginally. He said my uterus was tilted and that early dating scans can always have some sort of discrepancy. I wish you all the best at your follow up scan. I know it can go either way. I have had both positive and negative results in these situations. Good luck!

I don't personally have experience, but Delight went in at 7 weeks and saw an empty sac. At 9 weeks there was a baby measuring right on track and she's over 20 weeks now with no issues. I think she had a tilted uterus and the baby was just hiding. Hope you end up with a similarly good turnaround. 💕

Thank you all. Appreciate your kind thoughts and hope. I should get my second hcg result tomorrow which may give me a better sense of how this pregnancy is going, though I think I'm going to have to wait for Wednesday's ultrasound regardless. I'm starting to come to peace with the likelihood that this one isn't going to turn out the way I want, but I'm also not totally resigned to that fate just yet (just accepting of it should it occur). I'll post an update when I have more info. Thank you all again xoxo

I know it is hard to stay positive but you just need to wait and see. I think some babies are just slow starters and ultrasounds only accurate plus or minus 5 days. I tracked my basal body temps and did OPKs so I was pretty sure when I ovulated (clear spike on the BBT chart a couple days after the OPK) but when I went in for an ultrasound, my baby was measuring 5 days small. I was told to just wait and see and that it could go either way. I'm now 21 weeks. While I was going through this, I talked to a girlfriend who had mentioned a similar experience except her baby measured two weeks behind where it should be at the first ultrasound. She had her healthy baby in April.

Not trying to give false hope but also try to remember that it is not over until it is over.

Your HCG does seem high - mine was around that when I was 5w4d and had the bleeding episode this pregnancy - and we only JUST saw a heartbeat flickering. I hate that all you can do is wait, but I really hope this little bean is just taking its time. x

Im so sorry to read this and especially after dealing with IF.

So I guess there is a chance your positive on May 25th could have been as early as like 7-8DPO (which would be about 3 weeks pregnant). So there is a chance you were only 7 weeks this week. And everyone implants differently.

Your HCG sounds really high so that is encouraging.

Warning - sad post :(

Hi ladies - I am an ivf veteran who VERY unexpectedly got a + pregnancy test on May 25 two days after I expected for my third post partum period to show up. On Wednesday of this week, I went in for a dating ultrasound expecting to be right around eight weeks, but my scan is showing a gestational sac, yolk sac and embryo that looks closer to five weeks. No heartbeat yet detected.

I feel mathematically that it is impossible for me to be only five-ish weeks if I got a positive test May 25. I am sadly anticipating the worst and expect to miscarry on my own or have a D&C following my second (likely confirmatory) ultrasound next week. Looks like my body has just not recognized the non viability of this conception yet :(

I asked the doc to do my hcg levels and my first result came in today (9380 which is allegedly right around what they would expect for what age my ultrasound showed). Hopefully on Saturday the second hcg will provide additional info.

I guess what I'm looking for here are some words of encouragement or support if you can. Feeling very blue about it and am assuming that the worst is likely but still also hoping that maybe there is a chance? Maybe??? Ugh. I wasn't tracking or anything so I have no clue when I ovulated. Thank you so much. Xoxo

I'm only in my second post- MC cycle, but so far it's been longer. Based off when I ovulated, this cycle should be at least a few days longer than normal, assuming a 14 day luteal period.

First time: it was shorter by a few days.

Second time: the first cycle was normal length for me/maybe a little longer than normal, but not by more than a day or two. My second cycle was then totally jacked up because of the infection I got from my HSG. I will say, though, that I considered it fairly "normal" because it was only off by the number of days that I was sick.

I hope yours regulates soon! As for normalcy...eh, this is the new normal. It sucks, but good things CAN come from it!

We're ready to get back to TTC and I have no clue what to expect. I know everyone is different, but tell me your story. Did your cycle length change or stay the same after MC?
