@chopsuey119: You are more talented than I! I am terrible with the cover and try to find ways to not need to use it.
@mrsjazz: LOL. I don't have enough patience and am usually too hot for the 2 top system. Seems really popular though!

What about something like these from Target? It's a combo halter/strapless - I think you can leave the neck strap tied, and just pull down one side. My maternity suit is like this, and I'm pretty sure I could breastfeed in it.

I have a Speedo one piece. I just pull on arm out of the sleeve and it works great. It is also a convertible one so it is 2 colors for the price of one. I got it onsale for $30 at Big 5 a few years ago.

I wear a top from Target with some bottoms that I already had. It works great, and if it does get too stretched out after a summer of breastfeeding in it, I'm only out maybe $15.

I bought a tankini top from Destination Maternity .. (it was 29 bucks) and just wore pre-baby bottoms since they still fit.

I think it's sold out now, but DM's having a huge sale

I forgot to add, it would be great if it wasn't frumpy! That's all I can find - frumpy, unattractive, expensive suits!

I am about to go on a family vacation to the beach with my two boys, DS1 is two and a half, and DS2 is nine months. I nurse DS2 about five times a day, and know that I will have to nurse him while I am wearing a swimsuit.

Has anyone been able to find a supportive, inexpensive one-piece or tanking swimsuit? I need something with straps, but also something that I can pull down just one side at a time. I've considered strapless, but found that my little Mr. Grabbyhands will nearly pull off the entire top, so that a definite no-go! Halter tops dont work because both sides then fall down. I'm also looking for something around $40, which has been a challenge.

Any advice?

When I don't use a cover (sometimes LO likes it, sometimes she hates it, depending on where we are) I pull my top up and pull the tank top/cami down. I recently bought a ton of stretchy spaghetti strap tanks without shelf bras that are perfect for this.

I used to always wear a cami I can easily pull down and would just put on my nursing cover. I wore cami's in case I accidentally exposed belly rolls and my back :D

I just figured out a way for me to be more comfortable nursing away from home!

I prefer the clip down, button down, or snap down (not pull up or pull down) tops for nursing. This means there is a lot of top boob showing. Well--you know those fake camisole tops that they sell to cover cleavage? They are great for covering a lot of the boob and still leaving the nipple free for nursing.

WIN!

Anyone else have any alternative ways to make you feel more comfortable nursing in public?
