my seat is included in the recall but I've never had any issue with the buckle. I've found it extremely easy to use.

I also am not sure if mine has the safety surround or not, but we just took the pillow inserts out before she ever used it.

@dojo: I guess they just recalled some of these because the buckles stuck. I will have to check mine to see if it's part of it.

@T.H.O.U.: We just bought one with the safety surround (from Target) and I HATE the buckle too!!! It's our back-up seat and I got a great deal so I can't complain too much :-/

Just wanted to update this thread. I ended up with the one from BabysRUs which has the side impact protection (safety surround). I should have listened to the reviews because the head piece does kinda push the head forward. I think she would have been more comfortable in one of the other seats.

I also have to add that I HATE these buckles compared to the Britax buckles. One of those things that you get what you pay for.

Oooh I just saw that Target has the new MyRide 70 on sale for $120. I think with the BRU trade in event I can get one of the safety surround seats for $125 or so. Not a great price, but the safety surround prints seem to be a bit more expensive (and are carried at BRU which is more expensive).

Maybe I will try this one:

@Thehistoryofus: yeah I was shocked! they haven't had any more in a couple weeks :( I had it on my registry but bought it for myself in case no one bought it and they disappeared - and no one bought it, and they disappeared. only downfall is that it was manufactured last year, so we lost a year because it's an older model. and LO won't be using it until at least summer time..so we won't have as much mileage out of it. I just hope she can use it without it expiring until we can get a booster-type seat!

ETA - babies r us is doing the 25% trade-in thing right now, would that help your cost at all? I'm not sure what they run there :/

I have no idea, to be honest. I bought the MyRide 65 from target a few weeks ago for $79, they were clearancing them out for the new 70 model. We have "Resa," it doesn't have a pillow but a little infant insert.

As an aside, on consumer reports, the MyRide 65 was I think #2 or #3 only to Britax!

I am thinking we will get a Graco MyRide for a second seat. I would like to spend about $125 on the seat after tax.

I am not sure the differences between all the color options. I know the safety surround ones require you to remove the safety surround if you want to use rear facing and with the harness in the top slot (which many parents need for extended rear facing or tall children).

Any idea the differences in these besides the colors. Not sure why some have "mini wings" one has a "pillow" etc.

1. Graco MyRide 65 in Prentis/Cuddle with a "pillow"?
2. Graco Myride 65 in Nico/Capri with safety surround
3. Graco MyRide 65 in Coda (and a few other colors) with "mini wings"?

Also, now I see there is a Graco My Ride 70 offered by Target?
