I have one and like it, but it was HOT during the first weeks when I was running warm, it was summer, and LO was a furnace.
If they make a muslin version, that could be awesome.
I still use my regular one frequently, and its not a problem.

@septca: I definitely plan on getting a bunch of a & a blankets and I figured I could use them as a nursing cover as well. But like you said in the beginning it will be nice to have. Thanks!

Thanks everyone! Since I don't have a place locally that sells them I haven't been able to feel the fabric in person. I have seen other covers that seem thicker and not breathable. It sounds like the original works well, even in the heat! I also kinda figured if it's hot in one cover it probably will be hot in another. I watch an almost 5 year old boy so I'm not sure how comfortable I will be nursing around him so I want to have a good option for covering if I want/need it!

@danda: thanks for te comparison to a & a blankets! I would assume the muslin cover is similar weight to those, so if the original is just as lightweight it sounds like it would work well!

I have one and like it a lot, but I stopped using it after DD was about 6 weeks old. Before 6 weeks, it was nice to have the curved top so I could see her and help her latch if need be, but after 6 weeks she had BFing down and I found using an A+A blanket sooooo much easier - for one, it's bigger than a nursing cover, so you get more coverage (especially important as your baby gets bigger and starts to pull the cover and kick at it), and second, I always had one on me, even if we were just out with the Ergo. Using an A+A blanket as a nursing cover meant I didn't have to carry two things. (BTW, get a ton of A+A blankets... I often got away with only carrying the blanket - it can be used as a nursing cover, changing pad, burp cloth, scarf for you  , "booster" seat inside the Ergo...)

I have one and hate it. It's such a hassle to use, after a few times I gave up and just use my A&A blanket. That way I can adjust the blanket to just cover part of LO and it's not so hot.

We have one and I liked it!

One thing I have heard is not to get one with a contrasting pattern--the sun shines through it and the shadows can be distracting for the baby underneath. My friend has a plain ivory one (maybe the muslin one?) and I think that one is the best.

I love mine! I had a summer baby and live in Texas and never had a problem with the baby getting hot.

ETA: I have the regular, not the muslin.

I also have one, and had a summer baby. I think it's nearly the same in terms of lightweight as my A+A blankets - while it can get a little warm under there, it's definitely not because it's too thick...just inherent to using anything to cover.

I have a bebe au lait cover and love it!! It's really light and folds up well and compact. I also like there are lil burpy cloth corners on the inside of the cover!

They are pretty light. I loved mine! I almost think muslin would be warmer.

I am looking at nursing covers that will be comfortable to use during the summer months (baby is due in March). I like the prints and size of the Bebe Au Lait covers, but haven't been able to check out the fabric. How lightweight are the Bebe Au Lait covers? Are they comfortable? Or do you feel like they get too hot?

I found out this week that they make a muslin verison of their cover. I'm wondering if that fabric would be better or more comfortable in the summer. Does anyone have any experience with the muslin covers? It seems like they are relatively new.
