@LulaBee: @yoursilverlining: I've found it also chips quickly but I use a Deborahh Lippman addicted to speed topcoat to set it. Most of my polishes chip quickly, though.

I love the Dr. Hauschka line of skincare (and body care) products. They are super, super natural and they also don’t contain any animal products/by-products or animal testing, and are vegan-friendly – you’ve really got to label check in the US because “organic” or “natural” doesn’t really guarantee things 100% of the time.

I also LOVE LOVE LOVE honey as a facial mask. You can use regular good quality honey, but I prefer raw honey, which they have at both our local grocery and our local natural foods market.

Tea tree oil for spot treatment blemishes. Oh, and I like the Jason brand lavender body wash – omg, smells so good!

I also really like Butter nail polish, which isn’t natural but is free from formaldehyde, toluene, and Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP).

@daniellemybelle: yep, that was my dad's go to for my hair growing up. Ananda Lewis turned me on to olive oil. I loved the lighter feel of it when I would use it on damp hair to preserve my curls.

Where are you all finding some of these raw ingredients? Amazon? whole foods?

A friend of mine swears by Jason or Toms toothpaste it's some guys name. I used it once and it's very bland, but effective.

I love coconut oil as well, mainly as a body moisturiser for me and DS, but I also make it into lip balm or facial moisturiser along with jojoba oil. Jojoba is also great for taming and preventing frizzy hair, my nemesis.

Perhaps making the coconut oil into a lotion by mixing it with water, glycerine and an emulsifier would create a better moisturiser for your skin?

And he noted that milk was not essential to a healthy diet; adults in many countries drink little or none. “We don’t know all the long-term consequences, so I think the best strategy given current knowledge is to keep intake low to moderate (as in the Mediterranean diet) if it is consumed at all,” Dr. Willet wrote in an email.

It was funded by an organic milk company but this finding was interesting:

The researchers looked at 384 samples of organic and conventional whole milk taken over 18 months around the country. Although the total amount of fat was almost the same, the organic milk contained 62 percent more omega-3 fatty acids and 25 percent fewer omega-6s.

The ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 in the organic milk was 2.28, much lower than the 5.77 ratio in conventional milk. (The figures do not apply to nonfat milk, which strips away the fatty acids.)

So my sister is asking me about an organic natural wool waterproof mattress pad that she is thinking of getting me. I'm not sure what company, but she says it's in CA. Are there any risks associated with wool mattress pads, compared to the regular ones at BRU? Allergy or SIDS risks? I'm not sure how thick it is.

Also, I live in central TX, so it's warm 80% of the year. Would a wool pad be too hot?
