And this one was a surprise so it is possible. And this is after getting a PCOS diagnosis last year and them saying I might need to have a DNC to clean out my uterus if I wanted to have another. And I never had anything done. But everyone's body is different!

I thought I was eating healthy too but then I started tracking and that first day I was over my target goal by more than 500 calories! I started cutting way down on my portions and sticking to my goal and the weight is slowly coming off.

&#60;p&#62;@cyoung:  Diet is really the most important aspect to losing weight.  You can run for 45 minutes to burn off that 200 calories, or you can just not eat it in the first place.  I thought I was eating healthy-ish, until I really tracked how many calories I was eating, it adds up quicker than you'd think. I'd also recommend trying to stick to a low-glycemic index diet.  It's not crazy no-carbs like keto, but advocates for a balance of complex carbs and protein.  I really think I struggled to conceive our first because of PCOS and a mild insulin resistance, and the diet helped to counter those problems. <description>&#60;p&#62;@cyoung:  Try the app Lose it! I tried MFP years ago and just couldn't get into logging everything. But Lose it! makes it incredibly easy. I've been using it for 40 days and have lost 7lbs. I'm not even exercising yet, just sticking to my calorie goal. I love the interface and if you eat any kind of packaged food you can scan the bar code and it generally brings it up. When I'm cooking I can just scan whatever it is and add it quickly.

However when i was working out or walking and eating  healthy i saw very little results. I think I just need to practice discipline. I would like to get down to 220 at first and then go from there. I have tried my fitness pal but it stresses me out. Again I think I need to practice better discipline.

<description>&#60;p&#62;So ladies hubby and I are ttcing for baby number 3. I'm in my 2 week wait for cycle number 4. I'm just feeling discouraged and like it wont happen.  I got pregnant with my son and daughter first try but this time it has just not happened. I know four months is not long but I do worry. This time around I'm about 270lbs from having babies back to back. Unfortunately the weight does not seem to want to come off. If anything I gain super easily. I'm worried even though I have regular cycles, my weight is preventing me from having baby number 3. Do you ladies have any tips, advice or reassurance?&#60;br /&#62;
I do plan on trying to loose the weight. I've tried on and off and I get burnt out. I'm going to my obgyn this month to check my thyroid to be safe.

<description>&#60;p&#62;When I concieved DS unplanned I was 50lbs over my &#34;ideal&#34; weight. After he was born I lost a ton of weight with diet and exercise to bring my BMI to a healthy number. I ended up running 1/2 marathons and living a really happy and healthy lifestyle. When we concieved LO #2 I was at a healthy weight and just in general really healthy. We concieved on our first cycle and now I am 31 weeks. This pregnancy has not been any easier then with DS (he is now almost 4) and I have gained so much weight this time. I'm so ready to not be pregnant anymore and get back to being healthy. With all of that said (sorry for the rambling) I don't think weight matters to much. If you try and find you are having issues then drop some weight just make sure you do it in a healthy way.

<description>&#60;p&#62;I'm very overweight and currently 27 weeks pregnant. I did not have any issues conceiving, although we did have an early miscarriage before conceiving this time. I've been much better about eating healthy and working out (walking and yoga) than I was pre-pregnancy. As a result I've barely gained any weight despite measuring on target. So far I'm not having any blood pressure issues and I hope that continues. While it would have been better to lose weight before getting pregnant, it really hasn't made too much of a difference so far.

I did develop high blood pressure at the end of my pregnancy, which could be related to the weight or my age, or perhaps a bit of both.  We delivered a happy and healthy baby, albeit a few weeks early.

<description>&#60;p&#62;@Stosbet:  I wouldn't worry about the ideal # to be honest. At 16% body fat I was at my 'ideal' weight according to my height. Women average 25-30% body fat, 20-25% is considered 'fit' and under 15% most women stop having periods because their bodies lack enough fat to sustain a pregnancy. So my ideal weight was almost infertile! Try for the 150% of your ideal weight (I think that would be about 180lbs for you) and see how you feel. If you feel like it's a good place for you, awesome! If not, try another 10lbs until you feel you're good. Don't kill yourself doing it though. Small changes go a long way with time! It's great that you're thinking about this now instead of crash dieting right before TTC. You're gonna be a great mama!

<description>&#60;p&#62;My dr says 50% is the crucial #. If you are 50% over your ideal body weight, then she worries about it impacting your ability to conceive &#38;amp; your ability to have a healthy pregnancy. So for someone 5'6&#34;, that would be 190lbs.  &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Loosing 60lbs in 1-2 years is totally doable. But it's a longterm goal that will take some huge lifestyle changes and a lot if commitment. I've done it (I went too far though, at the time I didn't have 60lbs to loose), but didn't keep it off. Trying To (really, not trying, more like thinking hard that I should) loose weight while we're TTC. good luck to you in your weight loss &#38;amp; TTC!

And some people, based on body type, do not fit perfectly into the BMI categories.  But if you are 60lbs away from being on the top end of &#34;ideal&#34; I would probably say it's a good idea for you to consider losing some weight before TTC.  The closer you are to a healthy weight the better it is for the baby and for you.

<description>&#60;p&#62;On a whim, I picked up a copy of What to Expect Before You're Expecting, because DH had said he wanted to start a family within the next year or two. The thing that stood out to me the most in it, is that it says I should be in the &#34;ideal&#34; BMI range before TTC in order to not only help me conceive easier, but also in order to have a healthy pregnancy.  I would have to lose (at the very minimum) 60 lbs to be teetering on the edge of what would be 'ideal'. I have never in my adult (or even teenage, for that matter) life, been even close to that weight.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;I am curious if I really have to lose that much weight before TTC, or if it is possible to have a happy, healthy pregnancy above that.
